I am going to be having my next frozen transfer next month and it’s our last embryo so I am trying everything I can so even if if it does fail, I know I did everything I could. I have also purchased some baby aspirin but I am not sure when to start taking these. my period will be due the first week of July, which is when I start my estrogen tablets.
For anyone who has taken baby aspirin when do you start and stop taking these? I made the decision to take baby aspirin as I believe it will help me as I clotted a lot in my first transfer. At the end of the day doesn’t work, but at least I will know. I tried everything. Thanks in advance for your help. X
For my last (& only successful) medicated FET, I started taking baby aspirin (75mg) daily from day 10 onwards, as at the scan they noticed slightly constricted blood flow to the uterus (previously never mentioned, could have always been or just one off).
After 2 failed FETs, my clinic suggested taking steroids & stronger anti-clotting meds but I decided it was too soon to try these (stata in 1 in 3 after all). So baby aspirin was the only difference in terms of the protocol from other times. Who knows what actually worked - all I know is that I'll be taking it when I try for a sibling in the future!
I'm 31 weeks today, still taking due to low PAPP-A (150mg from week 12) and will be taking it until 36 weeks as per the instruction from my hospital.
Hi! I took baby aspirin for my last FET, which was successful. I think I started it on the day of the transfer. While the transfer was successful and I have a healthy baby girl from it, a word of caution: I developed I large subchorionic haematoma, which caused a large bleed and threatened miscarriage. Had to take it really easy until week 12, when it resolved itself. I was told that these are quite common for ladies who take baby aspirin in the first trimester and was told to stop it immediately after the bleed. So like any medication, it is a two edged sword. Very best of luck with your transfer! I hope it's a sticky one
Congratulations so glad it worked out for you x I have heard of the haematoma issues hopefully that doesn’t happen with myself but I’m glad you’re resolved itself x
