I really just want to have a wee rant because I know people on here understand what is going on. I have been going through the whole IVF process for nearly 3 years now from referral to our first ET which was unsuccessful. I am currently in my third year of my nursing degree and have uni work to do but it is so hard to concentrate when all I think about all the time is IVF and having a baby. AARRGGGHH! its just going round my head all the time and we have our FET approaching, so I am getting inpatient about that now and I have so much other stuff I need to do, but I keep procrastinating. I think i need a spa day or something, lol.
Anyone else the same?
p.s. sorry for anyone reading this, lol.

It can be all consuming if you let it! Just before we went for IVF, we took a 2 week holiday in Italy to completely unwind and just as one last big break before embarking on this. So glad we did as I haven't had a drop of alcohol or coffee since!! Also just prior to treatment I went to a one day relaxation workshop that really helped. If a day at the spa is what you need, then go for it! Even going for a haircut or manicure will make you feel good. You will be denying yourself these things soon enough so make the most of it now and it really will help you. Some women do acupuncture too. Anything that makes you feel good will help.
For the procrastination, try making lists? I'm the worlds worst at procrastinating so that's easy for me to say! But give it a go and journaling may also help, gets your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.
Thank you for your reply. we had a big holiday before hand as well, which did help a lot. We have had a couple of holidays in between the treatment as well, but then something bad happens and brings me down again. I think it is mostly impatience now to be honest that has my thoughts wondering, just want it to hurry up already so we can plan for the next stage, whatever that may be. I am actually booked in for a haircut on Thursday, and your right, even that can make you feel better. Even just venting on here has helped to be honest, because not many people understand whats going on.
I agree, it's good to have an outlet to rant! It's difficult with friends and family, I told a select few but they don't really understand the process. Hey, I didn't understand it until I went through it! All those injections, I really had no idea! Some were very supportive but I do remember at the time, my mum seemed to be more preoccupied with her new iPhone than she was in my IVF cycle! I guess she's from a different generation and IVF was unheard of in her day.
If you do need an outlet to rant, I found counselling really good. Your clinic probably offers it as part of the treatment or else it may be included in health insurance. Going to counselling means you have someone impartial to listen to you who won't judge you. I never thought I'd go to counselling but I'm really glad I did. She gave me some good tips on how to get through all this.
This process of trying for a baby is so much slower than expected, no wonder you're losing patience! We tried for a year and then got tested, had 3 natural pregnancies that all ended in miscarriage and eventually made it to IVF last Oct. From when we started trying to when we did IVF, it was the best part of 4 years. Lucky for us IVF worked first time, I'm 17 weeks with twins 😬
Just try and stay positive and do something you enjoy, even if it's just walking. Good luck with your cycle!
Aw thank you for your insight. I'm sorry to hear your ordeal but glad it's all coming together now. Twins? That will be a fun adventure for you, guess it's not bad having a 2for1 situation 😀
We met a counsellor in the beginning and they do offer it anytime, might look into it, thank you. It's worse because we are going through a sperm donor so my DH feels to blame sometimes because I need to go through all this, which is obviously not how I feel.
You are allowed to be fed up and I've just had a spa weekend with my girlies due to start my injections this week ready for our 4th Cycle and it does help. We all need a break and some well earned rest. It's best for you to feel ready and positive for your next treatment xx good luck 😀😀
