So I have had seriously bad pain in my left hand side of the abdomen, really, really low down....so I go to my GP who diagnoses a urine infection, I take 3 day course of antibiotics, but still the pain persists!!! Finally deciding that I cant take this anymore I decide to visit A&E, After swabs and loads off bloods, along with a 4 day stay in hospital they have diagnosed Pelvic Inflammatory disease! I came out yesterday I still have pain but have another 10 days on my antibiotics. Then I have to go back to ward this Tuesday to give another blood test as they say my iron levels are really low! They have prescribed Ferrous Sulphate three times a day that many medications at moment! :( I am a bit disappointed, feel as if everything is against me at moment! sorry for the big moan guys good luck to you all xxxx

Hi liz1985, sounds familiar id gone to GP with pains in my side, i could barely walk or stand straight i never go to the doctors unless its something i carnt try help myself with first but nothing helped and it got worse, i think i only ended up goin in the end because someone told me it could be an eptopic pregnancy....he proded and poked my side and felt my tummy then said its a urine infection! I always thought id been misdiagnosed but the antibiotics gave some relief, but then i noticed a pattern that it came bk always on the 14th day of my cycle!! I later realised i was having issues getting pregnant and looked into my fertility it was at that point i found out i had blocked tubes and i still feel 2yrs later coming up to fertility treatment if i had further tests i might not have been in this position....i find myself also blameing it on me if i had not taken the GPs word for it things could have been different! Just look on the bright side at least your getting the right care for it if you never went to A+E futher tests wouldnt have been done...wish you all the best and good luck with all your meds i know jus how awful those iron tables are ive taken them before! Best taken with orange juice they say xx

Through what methods did they diagnose this? I've been in and out of hospital and no joy with anything! Had similar and symptoms they don't know what's causing the pain x
