First injection in the morning: Hi girlies... - Endometriosis UK
First injection in the morning
Hi Katrina
Depending on what it is, it'll either go in your arm, your bottom or your tummy. It is a big needle but they're used to doing the injections and will very likely have some freezing spray to hand so you won't feel it. Depending on the nurse it could leave you with a bit of a bruise. I personally don't feel sick afterwards but I do feel a bit fluey for a couple of days.
Try not to worry about it, honestly, it's over in seconds
Thanks hun,
Im dead nervous about it, my appointment is at 10.15 so at least i wont be dreading it for the whole day. Im not bad with needles so long as i dont look and my veins dont collapse which they always tend to do and i end up with fat swollen bruised arms for about 2weeks.
I was very scared when I had my first Zoladex injection too. The nurse who administered it was very good. She was asking me about my last holiday and kept asking me questions and by it was over in no time. It feels like a sharp scratch and the needle feels a little uncomfortable but it's nothing compared to the some of the pains endo causes me.
My 1st Prostap in my tummy hurt a lot but then I had the injection only 5 days after my lap. The other two not hurt at all. Better looking at needle going in then know what to expect. May leave a bruise though. x
How did it go, Katrina? x
Hi Chrissie
Aww thanks for remebering and asking
I had the prostap injection in my tummy and It was fine i didnt feel the needle going in put when she pushed the top of the needle in that was i bit uncomfatable as i could feel it but it was over in seconds.
I feel bit weird at the moment but i supose that will pass soon I just hope it works x
Yay! Well done you! And now you'll know what to expect next time and it won't be so bad.
I find the easiest way is just to march into the room, get on the couch, look at the ceiling while they're chatting about the weather and preparing it and doing it, and then jump off the couch and get the hell out of there when it's all over
I always feel a bit icky afterwards, and a bit fluey for a couple of days, but then I seem to feel like that with all injections, not just Prostap and Zoladex.
I know this sounds really patronising, but I'm proud of you! LOL!
Lots of love, C xxx
When I had my zoladex injections I felt a bit sick and I could feel it there for a couple of days after it was put it but the weird feeling did go.
If you need to change give me a message.
I hope you feel better soon and this injection helps in the long run.
