I have recently been to the drs and have been told I have a vitamin D and B12 deficiency
we are trying to establish if there is a link between my endo or if there is something else underlying.
I am on the booster loading injections for b12 and taking the highest dose for Vitamin D. But i am exhausted constantly with the coming and going to the drs.
I was wondering if anyone else has this ?
thank you all for just reading

If you are in the UK vitamin D deficiencies are not uncommon regardless of age due to the climate. Everyone is advised to take supplements from end of September until April as there is insufficient sunlight to make it naturally.
If however you have other risk factors such as being inside a lot all year round due to lifestyle e.g. type of work, hours of work, or illness then being found to have a highly level of deficiency isn't rare. There are very few foods in the UK that are fortified with vitamin D3 unlike in the US and other countries.
You may find after you have your loading dose to get your levels up, you will need to take more than 800-1,000iu daily for the rest of your life. Unfortunately its trial and error, and you will need to be tested as vitamin D3 is fat soluble so you don't want to take too much. If your GP says they can't retest you then you will have to pay for it privately. NHS labs can and will reject GPs requests for testing if they don't think it's warranted. There are lots of private test providers who do vitamin D tests.
B12 deficiency in younger people is rarer. You need to uncover whether it's linked to a medical condition e.g. thyroid problem, linked to stomach issue or simply issues with eating properly due to illness. If it's not linked to issues with your stomach e.g. intrinsic factor then again daily supplement with B vitamins will keep your levels up. Unlike vitamin D, B vitamins are water soluble so unless you have liver/kidney issues you will pee the excess out. You also need to try and eat a diet with foods that contain B12 in them such as dairy products, meat and poultry.
hi, I have stage 4 endo and also have B12 deficiency. I get a lot of bowel symptoms which is probably why. The injections are fine tho and they work well! I’m hoping to be off them soon now I’ve had a bigger surgery x
I've got adeno and endo and just been told last November that I've B12 deficiency. Have diabetes too and have read metformin interferes with b12 absorption, so not sure really about the endo relation
