not sure if I have read it before or not but I have just been tested for vitamin deficiency today. They didn't tell me why they were testing me.

vit d deficiency does run in my family so might be worth me getting checked out. not sure how treatment helps improve endo symptoms though.

Hi,

I don't know of a link per se, but I have both and take vitamin D supplements daily. My GP told me that if you've ever had a test showing low levels of vitamin D then you should always take a supplement even if levels then return to normal. I think this would be a better option than sun beds personally, and just making sure you get enough natural sunlight when possible, I think the recommended is 30 minutes a day on average.

my daughter has just been diagnosed with extremely low vit d deficiency. says 15mins of natural sunlight on face and forearms. i have thought i may need testing if i have a hysterectomy because of effects on bone density.

I totally agree . It must be safe to take a supplement than use a sun bed.

Vitamin D is good for immune system. People with good immune systems do not get endometriosis, therefore vitamin D is good. It helps your immune system to fight endometriosis.

People in England can never get enough vitamin D. We always need to take supplements, my GP told it long time ago.

Yet the powers that be continue to deny us a flu jab every year! Can we start a petition?

Flu jab every year also in nothing good for your health. Better to eat ecological food, vegetable, juices, smoothies and vitamin supplements and avoid all processed foods, coffee, wine, beer etc.

So she's supplemented endo for potential skin cancer...?!

My mum who also has endo takes vitamin D supplements prescribed by her GP. So there could be a link. But that article is just her promoting her business.

Personally I have never liked the idea if sun beds. And taking a supplement is far cheaper and would presumably be safer.

Yes, I think there is a link as well. I had blood test a few years back which revealed that I had no vitamin D! I was put on a prescription for it and now just take regular supplements to try to keep my levels up. Wouldn't use a sun bed though!
