Too sore for Tampons. Anyone else?

Just wondering if anyone else’s vagina (sorry) is throbby and really sore, especially before a period starts. All month round really but this month really bad. Too sore to put a tampon up there and pulsating with pain right the way up it. There must be endo there somewhere, I can’t think of any other explanation. I don’t have sex anymore and haven’t for yonks. It’s not a urinary tract infection either. I also don’t use Tampax as there’re too “bleached” with chemicals. I’ve only used organic ones for years but they can be hard to find and right now way too sore to use. This is a first for me, along with everything else. 🙁 Just wondering if anyone else was or had experienced this horrid pain. 👹

I completely understand. My relationship with tampons is bad! The pain was unreal and horrid! I used pads for so long, but something about sitting in period has recently put me off. I tried menstrual cups and am in love! Soft and comfortable (after getting us to them) and will not hurt you, and keep your ph level safe.

I would firstly talk to a doctor about this sooner rather than later, but I would also try dilators in case you have vaginismus (which isnt bad, it is very common).

Wish you all the best :)

Thank you. I’ve spoken to GP. A lot. Deffo not Vaginismus. But very sore. Instinct tells me endo-spread. I have a history. A LONG LONELY history. I’m normally pretty stoic, but today just leaves me a bit broken. I’m lined up (again) for someone who knows what’s what to help me. Today and probably tomorrow are just not good days. 👹👹👹

Hi, yes I also suffer with this.

I also am a convert to a mooncup. It’s changed my life!

I try to empty it as little as possible to reduce any friction, but generally it’s fine.

Hi,

I’ve never really thought about why, but my period pain in general has always been worse when I wear tampons. Sorry I can’t offer any insight as to why!

Also that emoji definitely summarises how it feels 😂 👹

It’s the emoji I send to my boyfriend now when I’ve got my period.

It says everything I feel without saying a word!

I’m definitely like you I have not worn tampons in years. They make me feel uncomfortable, almost bloated but also they come out/move when I’m really heavy! Pain is easier to manage with pads & also I can tell when I need to change them.

Yes, and even then, always organic. Pretty sure the makers of Tampax don’t care about bleach, chemicals and god knows what else goes into them, that, ahem, then goes into us.
