What do you think of prostap and would you take it?
I have been offered it as a last resort, after my second laparoscopy they don’t really want to continue with surgeries so they have offered me the injections but the side affects are scary
I haven’t seen much about them so I am skeptical too

I am going to have my 6th injection next week.Ive gotta have them while waiting for hysterectomy.
I was also worried and the 1st 2 months were hard, still pain and periods and menopause symptoms. After my 2nd jab i went on hrt and was ready to give up as felt awful and painful but i was told to stick with 3 as they take 8-12 weeks to work propperly.
Month 3 i had my periods stop and will be 12 weeks period free this weekend, the hrt made minimal menopause symptoms and my pain is almost pain free that im hardlt on any tabs. I still get a flare here and there but nothing like i was in pain.
Ive also cut out alcahol and changed my diet and take daily vitamins
Fortunately I have the marina coil and I believe that has helped with bleeding but not so much with pain. I’m in pain and discomfort daily so I am hoping the prostap will help with that. It’s just daunting as a 24 year old, not know when my ovaries will kick back in again, so to speak… thank you for sharing with me!
I agree. I came on this chat cos my daughter has been offered Prostap aged 20. It seems crazy when you talk about putting a young girl on menopause and daunting as you say. Hers is for pain rather than bleeding. Let me know how you get on.
I'm on zoladex which is very similar. You need patience and everyone responds differently to this drug. I was very worried but it has been good as it is the only thing that will stop me from bleeding. You will need addback HRT for your bones and mental health xxx
Does it help with pain? As that is my main goal, I struggle with pain, bloating and discomfort the most, not so much bleeding as I have the coil as suggested from my first lap xx
My issue isn't pain but from reading others' experiences it's very effective with pain. It helps my bloating- I look pregnant without it. I think it's more effective with pain than bleeding. There are lots of different symptoms connected with peri menopause and you could get any of the. A lot of women don't have issues with mood but their hair has snapped and gone much thinner or they've put weight on or they have hot flushes. I'd read up on the symptoms of peri as there are over 30 different things. If you are in pain and nothing else is working then give it a try as it's reversible.
I've had 6 injections and it has slowed down the bleeding but haven't helped with the pain so tbeh ate now trying me on tablet and patch form xx (but not everyone is the same) I'd say try it x
I’m on my first injection due my second one next week… first 2 weeks Wer really bad pain wise it was worse than normal but now the pain is a lot less… but I have constant spotting and I jus want it to stop!
It's on zoladex and prostrap. It has around 1000 members all of whom are on these drugs, been in them or thinking if going on them. If you use the search option you'll find a wealth of information on there.
I have been on a mixture of synarel (nasal spray) and prostap injection for 7 years along with HRT tablet and have had no symptoms, pain or bleeding until recently where I've has slight pain and brown discharge so my consultant has changed me to a stronger HRT just 3 weeksago.. I'm now 47. I have to get a bone density scan every 2 year's. I see a nutritionist and eat healthy, no caffeine, gluten or dairy. Take lots of supplements. I'd give it a go
