Menstrual Cycle/Laparoscopy timing

I am due for my laparoscopy for an endo diagnosis next week. I’m just curious if it makes a difference at what point in your cycle your at as to whether your condition is more noticeable/diagnosable. I am due my period a few days before the procedure and I’m guessing I will shed a lot of tissue on those days before my op, will they still be able diagnose properly? I’m just fearing that they won’t see the true extent of the situation if the lining has thinned out during my period.

Hi, I don't think it matters as endo / adeno would still be visible at every stage of your cycle, my understanding is that it doesn't shed like a normal uterus lining during a period and so things like nodules and scar tissue will still be around unless surgically removed. I ended up having my period during my lap x

doesn’t matter sweetie as endo has its own hormones and blood supply normal with endo if it’s active they can see it pretty much if how ever the endo isn’t active but has left lots of scar tissue that will be visible . After my lap I had to have a mri to see how deep my endo was and then I’ve had excision surgery this year in may. If they see mild endo they will strip that and if they see endometria’s they will remove them via a cysteictomy. If how ever it’s more advanced and organs stuck together they will give an mri to give them an idea and then they will be able to map out surgery in a specialist endo clinic . Do you know whether you are seeing general gynecologist or specialist one ? As general gynecologist may miss it. I was very lucky that my

Hospital had specialist endo surgeons etc do my diagnostic lap then had to wait a year for my excision surgery and also before surgery put me in a chemical menopause to stop

The endo growing before surgery my hormones are back to normal now. If you’re not happy with any answers or anything you are entitled to a second opinion gynecologist wise .

Thank-you so much for the info. On her profile on the private health company website it says her speciality is gynaecology - I’ve attached a picture. Do you think she is a specialist?

hun she may just be general gynea hun there is An official endo group which I left for a few reasons but they have more information and guidance it’s called endometriosis guidance And information group I think and on there you can put who your gynecologist is and get advise from Others and they can read mri s and things and they have all about the different types of endometriosis and adenmyosis endo s twin. Try that group. I have autism and left for the reason I didn’t feel like I was supported as one of the admin said something to me. I relied it to another lady and then my post was removed. I was angry as one of the admin had said that to me and I felt like where was my support. So that’s why I left it. But I have support from my specialist nurse xxx
