I'm about to go back to a gynaecologist next week to resume investigations after two pregnancy losses (1 ectopic, one missed miscarriage). I'm keen for any suggestions on what I should be asking / what they should be looking out for.Basically my symptoms are intense pain in my side, normally the right side, from ovulation to week after my period. I also get nausea in the days before my period, but during my period the pain and nausea is worse. My periods generally regular-ish but heavy and 7 days long, but have had the odd cycle where ovulation delayed and go from averaging about 29 day cycle to 36-37 days.
Despite tracking ovulation etc it took me a year to conceive my first pregnancy. It was ectopic, and initially flagged as concern due to the intense pain in my right side - although the ectopic was actually the other side, and the pain just my usual. It ruptured and I had laparoscopy to remove left tube, but there was too much blood sitting in area to be able to see if evidence of endo. I fell pregnant again quickly, but that pregnancy ended in surgical management of a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks, and while the surgery was believed to be successful I had near-constant bleeding for another two months. I'm now back in the cycle of trying and failing to conceive, with pain for most of the month.
I'm now going back to the gynae but essentially just wondering if there are any questions I should be asking? Particularly in relation to how symptoms may be related to fertility and my losses. Any stories of encouragement after similar experiences also welcome!

Can't think of any questions....just wanted to show support and say stay positive and don't give up! I had an ectopic after a few early miscarriages and also had a medical termination. It was tough as you are in that place where all your friends around you are pregnant. Anyway.....I got pregnant with baby boy 1- 2 months after the wait you have to do after ectopic. Then I had surgery because the ectopic wrecked my fallopian tube and was causing pain. Then I got pregnant 11months on with baby boy 2 where the egg went from my good overy to the tube the other side. It's a horrible feeling not knowing what will happen. But it's possible. I'd signed up for ivf the month I conceived 2nd time. My periods were untrackable aswell. Just keep healthy and fit and calm. I really wanted close children but a 3 year gap actually was a god send as oldest is very helpful especially when I'm feeling poorly.
I had an excellent consultant endo specialist but he always just said to keep trying. You are able to get pregnant which is a good thing. Fingers crossed 🤞
Thank you so much, it definitely helps! Coming after a week where four friends and family members have announced pregnancies it was a hopeful story I needed to hear ❤️ xx
Yes really hard. I had sister in laws too. I don't remember any of those feelings now! Deleted by sleepless nights. Go get a massage and haircut and do nice nights out Xx
I can’t help ie what questions to ask, but I can offer a story of hope. I was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis after 5 years 10 months of infertility and after a chemical pregnancy ( out 1st positive pregnancy test in 6 years) we conceived our widest daughter who is 5 years old after my 3rd and last endometriosis surgery ( that’s the shirt version!) We’ve also suffered recurrent pregnancy loss 6 early losses and 1 late loss of our daughter at 20 weeks pregnant. We have 2 live daughters our eldest who is 5 and our youngest who turned 2 February. Since having our youngest we have been trying for another baby but so far had 3 miscarriages. I am so sorry about your losses and hope you are under a miscarriage specialist. We had many tests but have been told “nothing wrong “ and likely to be an age related issue. Even though I had recurring miscarriages I did have my youngest after a late loss and 2 miscarriages. There is always hope. As you’ve suffered losses you will be entitled to have progesterone to support another pregnancy as in nhs guidelines. I have found using a herbal supplement called Serrapeptase very helpful in calming down my endometriosis symptoms/pain and helping to regulate my hormones better I find my endometriosis can affect my hormones send them a little out of whack. I buy that online and notice a massive difference but obviously don’t take it once confirmed pregnant. I also recommend the anti inflammatory diet which means cutting dairy products and gluten can also ease endometriosis symptoms particularly the bowel ones. There are many supplements such as turmeric that are high anti inflammatory which can help reduce inflammation helping endometriosis symptoms ease as endometriosis is an inflammation disease. Failing that maybe a lap maybe helpful to improve your endometriosis symptoms but as you are able to get pregnant naturally I would take as a very positive thing as that can be half the battle. I wish you the very best luck and hope it’s not long till you have a successful pregnancy Xx
Thank you for sharing, and so sorry for your losses, it sounds like you've had an incredibly tough time ❤️ Hearing you conceived after your surgery is really comforting, so thank you! Wishing you luck and all the best xxx
