I have been on the Endo diet for the past few months now and since my cycles seemed to of changed. My cycle length is shorter - 25 days now and my periods are much heavier aswell. The Endo pain that I used to get pre-period has improved which is great. It’s all happened quite quickly though and I thought it would take months to maybe see a change as a consequence of the diet. The reason why I’m concerned about my cycle changing is we are trying to conceive without much luck so far. Should I be worried? Has anyone else experienced changes to their cycle as a possible consequence of the Endo diet?
Thank you xx

I’ve recently just found out I have endo and have been looking at certain diets. The feedback my doctor gave me is that my diet doesn’t really effect endo but I can change it if I want. I then gave up looking at them. Would you be able to share what diet has worked you?
I would say your doctor doesn't know what they are talking about. Diet absolutely doesn't take away my pain from endo or cure it but it is a game changer when it comes to living with the condition. Bouncing back quickly in between and much reduced fatigue and period associated hormone issues. It means I can live and enjoy my life as well as I can given the disruption that crippling pain brings. I broadly follow an anti inflammatory diet but you have to find what works for you. I am vegetarian, but I wish I ate meat to make the protein side easier. I avoid processed foods, refined sugar, alcohol, made a reduction in dairy and caffeine. I eat 5 meals a day based round protein and veg . The book The Balance Plan by Angelique Panahos is a helpful starting point. I also like The Food Medic by Hazel Wallace. Hand in hand comes sleep, exercise and stress reduction. Making slow but sure progress has been amazing for me. I spent a lot of time wishing I didn't have endo but over the years I've learnt to treat the body I do have with kindness and its made me more resilient. Good luck with your journey.
Really appreciate you sharing. Gives me some hope that a diet can help in some way even if it’s not a lot. I’ll also be getting those books so thank you again! Good luck with your journey as well and hope you get the answer you’re looking for.
Thank you. It has been a game changer for me. Except for the people who live in my house and see the messy side while waiting for medication to kick in I don't think anyone would know I had a problem anymore. People used to wonder it I had cancer it made me so ill. Waiting for my 4th surgery. Hopefully the last 🤞
Aw glad it’s helped you and sorry you’ve had to go through all that and so many surgeries! Hoping it’s the last for you as well and hope it goes well x
I shouldn't think it is the diet directly and anything you can do to be healthy if you are trying to convince is a good thing. I changed to an anti inflammatory diet and would say in around 2 months I felt better in myself but it took about 8 months to see an improvement in relation to my cycle which has got longer by a few days over the last year. Could be coincidence though 🤔
