I little back story, previously went on Cerelle/Desogestrel before my Endo diagnosis and it was a pill I had every little symptoms on. However, I had breakthrough bleeding and severe acne with it as side effects. Since my diagnosis I cannot get settled and I have tried the Mirena Coil, Depo, and then got thrown on Levest/Millinette by my GP. I am not having a great time on the combined pill, hence the debate of gong back on Progesterone Only.
Would it be worth putting up with the breakthrough bleeding (I have seen some people double dose which seems to help them). I was also wondering if anyone else suffered with progesterone only pill induced acne (I had it face and body badly) and how did you get help for the acne if you did?
Thanks x

Hi I also take the mini pill (cerazette) and causes acne. Over the years it have realised that is better to have acne than endo pain however I managed to stop acne with a good skin care routine that was prescribed by a dermatologist. Really worked for me. I use Marti Dermi Active Cremigel (Aconinover) from Amazon but I’m sure there will be plenty of options that can suit you. Worth to say that at the beginning of the treatment I had extra acne that cleared up after a few weeks. Good luck !
Ah also, In relation to the bleeding I also had some while in the pill. It was quite bad and painful so I needed excision surgery to remove endo and go back to normality.
That is exactly what I am thinking with regards to be in control and just deal with the acne. I just remember it being all over my chest, back and the back of my legs so I’m panicking a little. I do remember it settling and just flaring on my face and chest after taking it a while. But as you have said, seeing a dermatologist for support would be a good idea. Thank you again!
