Hi Lucinka,
I was put on the waiting list on 9th February and saw my gynae yesterday who said it's 72 weeks from first appointment which for me is 2nd August so I'm expecting around Xmas time for me. That's Manchester UK x
Hi, I have only recently had my op after a 74 week wait! I consented back in 2021. (Merseyside)
Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting 🙏🏻
hi Kirsty, thank you for your reply very kind
74 weeks are you joking😱😱😱😱I so gynaecologist on 25/4 and was put on 3 months waitting list she said it’s urgent op so I hope it will happens soon but after reading so many stories I am not sure if even having the operation will help me😭I just want my life back!! Very sad
Hi
I am on a priority 2 list which is urgent. Also in Manchester UK. I was listed in January 2023 (AFTER I told them how I've been treated!). No date as yet and nothing on the horizon. I got a routine appointment letter for August yesterday which to me means not to expect anything anytime soon. I have been waiting for excision surgery, bowel, bladder and hysterectomy since June 2020. It has now progressed to my kidney and im still no further forward. Currently have a complaint in with PALs. I would get them to pin it down if you can. Good luck.
I waited 18 months and it’s was very difficult and traumatising. My second one. All done now and on the mend ❤️🩹
My Endo caused me to become homeless as I couldn’t work. Benefits took 10 months for assessment and I lived on £74.20 per week for this time. The backpay was nice. I got rehoused in the most beautiful home 🏡
Now I have probably Chrons disease 😂🤣💩after all my Endo shizzle! Currently isolated, can hardly walk and Social Services are helping me to get out. I can’t do the bus as doubly incontinent and full of anxiety. No car. Bus stop is 0.8 miles away and I can’t manage the walk as I shuffle.
Just happy to be alive and on a healing journey no matter how slow, all is progress.
Defo would not pay private, even though the wait was horrific.
Hope you’re doing okay as the waiting is gruelling 🫂💪🏻🏆🥇🫶🏻💗
My lap last year, I waited 66 weeks. I’ve been on the list again since October (now 30 weeks) to have the Endo found removed but been told no one is being booked unless they’ve hit 50 weeks. Despite my case being down as urgent, I’ve been told it won’t be any sooner than that so very, very earliest I’m looking at is late September
Hello
I was put on the waiting list for lap for bowel Endo on Dec 2020. In the letter it explained there would be 'a significant wait' because of Covid. I finally had the pre-assesment app recently, so it has been about 2 1/2 yrs in my case. I'm waiting to get the procedure date (they say 4-6 weeks). It's been a long wait. If I hadn't been dealing with fixing a kidney issue in the meantime I probably would have chased them up for it. (I only got my kidney stone surgery sorted by chasing them up, switched to a different surgeon with earlier spaces)
I really do wish anyone on this waiting list the best, and I hope you hear from someone soon <3 It's terrible the pain we have to wait through.
Unfortunately sometimes you really do have to call and prod them if it's been a long while or it feels like you're forgotten. Even just calling to ask where you are on the list can be enough to kick something into gear in my experience. Worth bearing in mind Xx
I only waited 9 months which ain’t as bad as I’ve seen I have my op the 22nd may
I feel for all your ladies, I've had 5 x laparoscopies over the last decade, May 2010 ultrasound, large cyst, expected endometriosis, op July so 2 month wait. Each passing lap had to wait longer and pain unbearable at times. My last op was July 2019, waited over 18 months for it, awful pain. Always talk to other Endo sufferers helps, get advice on pain control, drink peppermint tea, etc. I hated the tea but raspberry red leaf tea helped. I'm perimenopause now so going through a different kind of suffering! Hot water bottles help with pain, being in water too, I did lots of swimming and laying in the bath most nights, don't lift anything heavy etc. Just silly little things like this really helped me, bath at night before bed eased the pain so I could get some sleep. Wish you all the best of luck x
I'm waiting 10 months now and each time when I'm calling they say that they know I reached max waiting time but the doctor which will operate me, he got more cancer patients and now they are priority as they fight for life. Each time they also tell me to call me after Doctors strike, so they should know more, but they don't know more. I was overly optimistic it's going to happen this year. I'm in Oxfordshire.
