I was finally given the best news in March and was put on the waiting list to have suspected endometrioma removed and csection wound exploration. I have what we think is scar endometriosis, so this was absolutely amazing news. Sadly, they said the wait is upto 1 year which is poop but I'm happy to be on a list. However, the NHS predicts August. Has the app ever been right for anyone else? How long did you wait for your Endo surgery on the NHS?
Many thanks
Xx

Hiya, I was originally told 6-8 month wait back in September last year, now it's gone up to 9-12 months, due to strikes etc. and a long waiting list. I'm in Gloucestershire though, it will depend on where you are. I did keep bugging my clinic every few months for an update too!
It's so frustrating and hard to deal with, I just try to keep myself busy and plan nice things, to try and make the time go quicker.
I hope it's not too long for you and all the best xx
The app for me said Feb this year and that was added in december, still waiting though having already waited about 2-3 years to even be put on a wait list 🤦♀️
I’ve been on the list 14 months they rang me yesterday with a date but put me with a surgeon and consultant I’ve never met so I’m going to ring them today and ask to have it with the surgeon that knows me and my case so that will probably make it longer lol
I was told at least a year (for 2 surgeons involved) then been told July (opted out a bowel surgery so one surgeon) but still heard nothing. They said they contact you the month before surgery. I opted out of bowel surgery to try and get treatment sooner bit it's still over a year so far!
Hey, it was about 3 months for me to have suspected endometrioma removed. I'm in the Surrey area. This was in 2023. I think it depends on how complex your surgery is and where you live. Mine was basic diagnostic laproscopy (excision) Hope you get your date soon xx
It really depends on area. Waited 66 weeks for a exploratory laparoscopy in Aug 22 and then waiting 17 months for my excision surgery which I had in Feb this year. Wait times are pretty long all around unfortunately
Hi, when waiting for my laparoscopy in 21/22 I was told a year. However I rang the hospital and was lucky enough to be able to ask them to let me know of any cancellations. This cut down my waiting time a bit. It does mean you might not have the most notice I was lucky someone canceled a month before their appointment. If your able to do this it's worth considering 😊
I have severe endo and waited well over a year (Lincolnshire). It does depend where you are but it's fair to say everywhere is swamped. Defo recommended calling and saying you will accept last minute cancellation slots (if your able to do this). I work for the NHS and I help run/book one of our clinics (not surgical) and we get so many last minute cancellations. When I'm looking down the waiting list I can clearly see those who have said they will take last minute cancellations so they get offered it first usually! X
