Lap surgery then hysterectomy surgery wait time

I am having a lap next week to in the words of my surgeon 'have a look around' and then followed up with a hysterectomy including removing womb, cervix, ovaries, fallopian, one 14cm mass and one 18.5cm mass plus two fibroids. I have been waiting two years. Does anyone know how long they normally wait between the lap and full surgery? Thanks 🙂

You’ll likely be waiting a similar time. I previously waited 66 weeks for a lap, Endo was found but not removed. I was immediately put back on the list but told it was a similar wait. I’m only at 30 weeks right now so not even halfway yet 😭

I think that will depend on your hospital ask them when you are having lap ask nurses they have more knowledge then drs most if the time on waiting lists I also think it depends on what they find

Hi, l had a partial laparoscopic hysterectomy late December last year then followed by a full laprascopic hysterectomy 6 weeks later as they had found a tumour embedded in my endo which proved to be cancerous. They do not keep us waiting long if anything worrying is found as a general rule.

I am now waiting for brachytherapy to hopefully get rid of any off shoots from the tumour becoming a problem in the future. I am 77 years of age and all this began with a post menopause bleed in December 2021.
