6 weeks post op and still really sore?

Has anybody been in this position? My stomach is tender to touch and sore. This is my second lap and I am so surprised at the difference between my first and the last. The only surgery difference I can tell from my notes is my bladder was involved this time.I had 5 keyholes, my bellybutton one was big and stitched as well as glued. One hole opened up 3 weeks ago and I had to have it redone in SAU.

I don't know whether to see a Dr (although this is easier said than done, as the appointments go so quick, I've been let down 3 times so far since surgery), or to just ride it out.

I'm exhausted from it all to be honest. I'm still sleeping on my back because it is so sore and finding it hard to drift off because of it.

Hi, sorry to hear you're in so much pain post op. Is it the incisions that's causing the pain, or is it the skin that's tender to touch between them? If the latter it sounds like it could be neuropathy, which is nerve damage. I had this & even clothing brushing my skin was very sore, & painkillers weren't helping. It can clear on its own - I'm 5 weeks post surgery & it's improved significantly. However I would suggest calling the hospital where you had your op & ask to speak to the surgeon & let them know. I was told there are "things" they can do to help, but was never told specifically what those were - they told me to wait if out & see if it improves, but that was 3 weeks post op. Also worth mentioning it to them incase it isn't that & the pain is being caused by something else. Good luck & hope the pain improves 🤞

Thank you, It never even entered my mind nerve damage 😕 ive got 2 insisions between my belly button and ribs and then another in my belly button and the pain runs across them in a triangle. My bottom 2 insisions don't hurt at all. It's so hard to describe but I can't wear any waistband near them because it hurts. I will probably give them a bell to see what they have to say 💛

I feel your pain, literally. I’m 2 weeks post op and have three incisions.

All had stopped hurting but last few days my belly button one is awful. Even the lightest touch over the top of it hurts , waistbands are horrible. I’ve been walking around at work pulling my trousers up super high so they don’t touch.

My other incisions are painless. I’m at the point of calling the hospital to ask what to do as I got zero aftercare , haven’t seen or spoken to the surgeon and had to call his secretary to find out what they had actually done

I hope your pain settles down soon .

I hope your feeling better soon too! I've taken to maternity clothes 😩 because they are baggy and high waisted. It's so frustrating 🥴
