ovulation pain

does anyone else with endometriosis get really bad pain when ovulating ?? I have heard that ovulating can be more painful in women with endometriosis, but not sure if this is a myth! I’ve felt as though I’ve been flaring all week, but now I’m thinking I could be ovulating, because an “endometriosis flare” doesn’t usually last a whole week for me. The contraception I take has completely stopped my periods, so I don’t always know my cycle

I get bad ovulation pains - constant aching back and pelvis for around a week. For me, I think this is due to having chocolate cycsts in both ovaries.

that’s exactly what I’ve got now, had it for 3/4 days and it just won’t go 😩 just a constant pelvic/back ache, it’s awful

Yes, I have cramps and can spot too. That’s how I know I’m ovulating. I’m going through ivf and clinic aren’t worried about it. There has been a post recently about ovulation pain and spotting x

yeah I’ve had some spotting too, which is normal for me anyway as the pill I’m on has stopped my periods, thank you x

Yes! I actually usually feel almost as much pain when ovulating as I do when I’m on my period. I’ll often begin to have a flare seemingly “out of the blue” then I’ll check my Flo app and it’ll be my day of (or leading up to) ovulation.

yes! That’s exactly how mine started, so I just thought it was an “endo flare”, but it’s been 3/4 days now of just lower back and pelvic pain, and typical ovulation pain. I need to use that app to properly understand my cycles because the pill I’m on stopped my period completely (apart from random spotting) so I don’t really know which bit of my cycle I’m on!

Hmm, if you are taking a contraceptive pill, that stops ovulation. Can you check what type of pill you are taking with your doctor? That might rule out some causes I suppose. All the best! :)

the one I’m taking says it stops ovulation in 97% of menstrual cycles, and tbf I don’t get ovulation pain every single month, this one is the worst I’ve had it and lasted the longest so maybe it’s just every now and then! Thank you 😌

hi I used to get really bad ovulation pain that lasted 10 days each month my periods were easier to cope with. I was even getting the pain whilst on depo Provera injection. I finally said goodbye to my ovaries and tubes in May last year at the age of 50
