Hi all hope your all well, i'm due to have my laparoscopy on the 14th of march but just curious if anybody suffers more when ovulating as opposed to being on their period. I find this is when my pain is at its worse

Hi loopy. This has been my recent experience over the last 8 or 9 months. I had a ruptured ovarian cyst over a year ago and today I had an ultrasound, where they told me I have a blood filled cyst on my ovary again.

I'm not sure what they are going to do about it though - nothing probably!

Thanks for replying, all my scans have come back clear at my last gynae appointment i was in the middle of a bad flair up she seems to think my bowels are involved and put me down for urgent lap. First comes the pain and then the bloat does this sound right.

Hey, This was my 1st complaint with my gynea. 2 and a half yrs later, 2 surgeries, last one in July last year and the 1st initially symptom is as bad as ever (ovulating pain day 12 to about 21).

It infuriates me when people find out i have endo and say "oh shame you suffer with bad periods?" 😤😠

I have my 3 monthly appointment with my gynea in 2 weeks and it cant come quick enough. Although i have tried all hormone options and had a specialist do my excision surgery, I dont know what other optiins there will be.

It could be endo is present with u (not visible in a scan) but rather than cysts it could be pressure on nerves as i had due to things being stuck together. And as u ovulate its causing the flare in pain?

Hope you get answers? But in meantime my gynea advised a build up of painmeds around this time and then when the pain really hits take a big dose. Are you with a endo specialist?

Take care 😏

Hi loopy80. When my endo started to become apparent after my c-section I definitely started experience ovulation pain as well as period pain. It's everyday now so it's hard to differentiate (plus I haven't had a period since coming off prostap injection, 8 weeks now!) It was very obvious early on though because I would get dull non stop pain for about 10 days and then extreme pain for first 3 days of my period. I have endo on my bowel mainly and adenomyosis, think this is why I experience this pain, may be the same for you. Obviously when you have a period your uterus contracts which amounts to me unbelievablepain because of the adenomyosis (endo in the muscle wall of the uterus) and when you ovulate your uterus swells and can gently contract.

Hope this helps x
