advice about mirena coil

Mirena’s can be a bit like Marmite 🤣
So…I’m a fan of them having had them since Endo diagnosis 17 years ago. I have had 5 inserted and 4 removed. Currently have one now, which was put in a few weeks ago.
Everyone’s body is different remember. My period before Mirena was heavy, severe pain, nauseous, lethargy, fatigue, possible PMDD. In bed for 2 weeks ish out of every month.
Post lap with ablation, Gnhr analogue injections for a few months, then Mirena insertion. My energy went through the roof. I was a new woman and lost 2 stone as more active. It was like a personality change overnight!!! The periods were then light…requiring a panty liner and lasted 3 days.
It really is 5 minutes of insertion. Discomfort, to which I advise you take parecetamol and ibuprofen before your appointment. The trick is to relax and to breathe. The more you tense the harder it is for them and the more discomfort you have.
After insertion. My body has 2 days of fairly minor period style cramps, and then light spotting. Which means I just use panty liners until it settles down.
With my first ever Mirena, I went on honeymoon 2 days later and no problems with penatrative sex.
As you’ve had children it maybe even easier to insert because your anatomy is more favourable, according to a GP.
Any questions ask away x
Ok thank u. We havent had baby yet. Baby not born until jan/Feb so just waiting till then I'm gonna sort with midwife to plan hace straight after giving birth to baby.
Super keeno- love it!! Congratulations for the upcoming birth x
Thank u. Yes indeed ny partner gonna get snip as well. Tbh this is are 1 and only miracle baby surprise. And this little 1 will be all we want. I wouldnt want to go through this again🤣. But honestly 1 baby is enough. As long as he/she has parents that love and look after there child and ve there and support them that's all that matters. Could I think will be good. Plus it will stop or at least slow my periods down as I hate them. Baby so far is really healthy and strong and growing well. Just the pain and sickness I get. Stomach feels all bruised. But I do feel a little movement with fetus. Hard to get comfortable as well. And suffer with bad backs on bottom. X
Super happy for you! It doesn’t sound straightforward and My friends have had complicated pregnancies. So I know it can be really rough!
Such a positive and lovely desire for you little human. That touches me deeply! My Parents were not the best but I am so glad to be alive, despite them x x x x
I'm so sorry to hear that. Yh same with me and my partner. Some of us isnt lucky out there to have great parents. But some of us that didnt have great parents turn out to be the best parents for are children. We are survivors and tbh I'm glad 1 thing for sure is that only thing are parents did right was give birth to us as we woyldnt he here or wouldnt be the people we are now. And thank u so much. Are little miracle is gonna have best life we can give him/her and defo a better 1 that we never had. Xx
I love mine, but for me the attempts at insertion were so painful that I went into shock (haven't had baby). I had it put in under sedation at the hospital.
