So after years of pain, multiple miscarriages and heart ache I finally have my surgery date 26/10/21! I can see light at the end of the tunnel š
Finally have my surgery date! : So after... - Endometriosis UK
Finally have my surgery date!
That's fantastic newsI hope all goes well for you,
will you be having a total hysterectomy or keeping ovaries?
Take care and let us know how you get on
Congratulations. I'm also waiting for a date for the same procedure. I have my pre op appointment on the 5th and said it will be soon. Its such a relief when you get somewhere isn't it. ā¤ļø
It definitely is! Never thought Iād be excited to lose an organ but god I am š¤£ my pre op will be then as well as I have to isolate for 2 weeks beforehand as they are possibly having to open me up as I had a burst bowel in 2006 so I have large amounts of scar tissue and they donāt want to risk keyhole if they canāt see properly. Good luck with the pre op and hope you get your date soon x
Good luck to you too. I have followed you. Will you share your experience. Sure many of us would like to read about your recovery x
Of course I will x
I can understand your joy at receiving a surgery date! I had to wait approximately 18 months and it was mentally and physically draining. I just wanted answers and to know what was going on inside my body. You will feel such a huge sense of relief afterwards. My operation in July was fairly complex so that came as a bit of a shock afterwards with the diagnosis I received but just the relief of having the procedure was overwhelming. All the best for your procedure and keep focusing on the positives and what you will feel like after you've had it done, it will be well worth it xxx
Yes it is draining and has impacted on my family life as Iāve tried to hide my pain until I no longer could but feel like no one understands how bad it actually is! I have the feeling mine is going to be complex cos that will be just my luck! The colorectal team think my womb and bowel are fused, whatever happens I will be glad to be womb free in 5 weeks, Iām literally counting the sleeps haha xx
I too have finally recieved my pre op appointment for September 30th. I'm assuming that my op will shortly follow but have no details. Gynae said he wants to try and keep my ovaries or at least one but I have no idea how the procedure will be done so I don't know what to expect or recovery time scale etc. Hopefully I'll get some more details before the day of the op. I hope your procedure goes well and you make a speedy recovery x
Thank you š I hope you get your date asap. Both my gynaecologist and colorectal consultants have been fantastic and explained everything in detail so Iām going into this with my eyes wide open x
Wish I could say the same. I have no idea how they will perform the surgery. I am also in the process of being diagnosed with fibromyalgia so I am very concerned this surgery might give me a flare up. I have enough chronic wide spread pain as it is. Hoping this will solve some of my issues at least. The last 21 months have been horrendous for me. I assume the procedure will be within the week following the pre op appointment. No mention of if I need to isolate or not. I literally got the call Saturday so not much notice to organise things.
If they are performing keyhole surgery itās 3/4 days I think not 2 weeks like me, Iāll be climbing the walls lol.Hopefully this is the beginning Of the start of a less painful life for you x
Hi did you get your diagnosis of fibromyalgia? I have it too as well as CFS, endo and adeno x
I wasnāt under investigation for that, just severe endo and my womb and bowel have fused together and I have massive amounts of scar tissue due to previous bowel surgery xx
Really hope it go well for you with a speedy recovery xx
Well Iāve been sat here all day and theyāve just cancelled on me now, absolutely devastated
