SURGERY DATE FINALLY

Hey guys so I never thought this day would come!! After waiting 1 and half years in pain and horror.

I FINALLY HAVE A SURGERY DATE 😭🥺

It’s on the 7th January 2022. I have to isolate 3 days before surgery and doing the covid test before my isolation date.

Can any recommend me anything before, during and after surgery?

Do you think they will make copies of the photos during surgery for me?

Any questions I should ask?

TIA x

Hi Chloe

Great to hear that you now have a surgery date in the New Year. Is this a laparoscopy?

We have a great info sheet on our website endometriosis-uk.org/your-l... which can highlight what happens to you during a laparoscopy and some of the things you may experience after surgery.

The main thing to remember is that you are entitled to ask questions of the doctors who will be performing the surgery to ensure that you are comfortable and try to remember that everyone's experience and recovery times are different and that you should take it easy following the surgery.

Wishing you all the best x

Hi lovely, so glad to hear you have your date!!

The doctor showed me some photos when she explained what was found and where but I was still a little drowsy. I didn’t want any copies of the photos so I’m not sure if you can have them but I don’t see why not. I had to stay in overnight as I needed a catheter because my bladder decided not to work 😅 I went home the evening after and having a pillow for the car ride home helped a lot!!

I was stuck in bed for about a week afterwards and needed help with showering etc but everyone is different. Just try not to do too much too soon and good luck! Xx

Hi, I had my surgery on Tuesday, came home from hospital last night and am currently on bed rest. My advice is keep on top of your pain relief and when your body wants to sleep let it! Keep hydrated as well, im in a lot of pain I have to say and am feeling pretty sorry for myself but I know this isn’t going to last forever and once I’ve healed I should get my life back.Good luck with your surgery xx
