Date for surgery finally!!

So finally got a date for surgery, keeping my fingers crossed this time they don't call me up a day later like last time saying oh no that was a mistake your not having it now! Supposedly 6th May, won't hold my breath but praying it goes ahead. Looking like full hysterectomy for me. Swollen tubes, cysts on both ovaries and apparently have to have appendix removed also, something to do with it sticking to uterus god knows! Terrified but also looking forward to not feeling like I've been hit by a truck 24/7. Won't miss the endless bowel issues and awful bladder incontinence plaguing me at the moment. Probably shouldn't be worried, had surgery before to remove cysts and endo so sort of know the drill but somehow the thought of hysterectomy and it now involving so many other organs is filling me with dread just wanted to get it off my chest, feel like my thoughts are racing xx

It's good to see posts that people are finally getting dates, for long awaited surgery. Hope it goes ahead on 6th May for you. It's understandable to feel a sense of dread, possibly because you've had previous surgery you know what you will go through. Try to stay positive, you've got this 🙌

How long have you been on the waiting list for? Curious as I am also waiting for a hysterectomy xx

Ah thanks appreciate it! My symptoms started to return around August last year, ended up in hospital but they fobbed me off saying nothing on scan. I decided to go private for investigation as I had gone private for my previous surgery. It was privately I had mri and found the swollen tubes cysts etc. I was of the understanding same surgeon would just do procedure but it was at that point I found he wouldn't as he had gone in last time only thinking he was removing cysts, endo wasn't found till I was opened up so he wouldn't do surgery again and none of the specialists that do were covered by my insurance. I think it helped getting the investigation private though as then got referred to NHS and everything was pretty much done for them. So 8ish months xx

Yeah you are probably right that having the private scans has helped, especially as you were being fobbed off previously. If only "specialists" listened to us. I had an MRI scan last September, which showed deep infiltrating endometriosis, my Uterus and ovary are stuck to my bowel. I've been on the joint/urgent list for just over 7 months. Hoping not too much longer to wait now.

Hope all goes well for you xx
