Not sure where to start. I had the coil fitted 4 weeks ago and spotted for the first week heavy period with clots the second week with no sign of stopping till took tablets to help slow flow and still spotting now. My period was just as painful as if I didn’t have it in and the cramping I’m still getting is just awful I want to cry. I can’t check strings as too high up inside and have to wait till 12th for GP to check them. Any advice as I’m dreading another period like before as I thought the coil was meant to lessen not keep them the same or slightly worse 😢

Hello Lj87, I’m sorry you’re going through a difficult time at the moment. The coil can take up to three months to settle down, if you really need to see your GP you could try calling the surgery tomorrow and explain to the receptionist that your need is urgent, they might be able to get you in sooner. If they can’t get you in you can try a walk-in centre.
I hope you get some relief soon, hugs.

Thank you for replying hun. Last time I had it in I had it out after five months because I was in so much pain and always bleeding in some form or other. Anyway when they took it out it was bent in half but with in minutes my pain had gone. I then fell pregnant miscarried had one period 9 weeks after and then had it back in just hoping this time the same thing hasn’t happened. I’m just keeping everything crossed but at the moment I just feel like I can’t be a wife fully as I don’t wanna be touch when spotting etc driving me nuts I hate Endo like I know everyone does too just struggling at moment. Xx
You’re brave having the coil fitted for a second time after your first horrific experience. Are you still TTC? Is that why you’ve tried the coil again? I’m sorry about your miscarriage 😔 I hope the spotting stops soon for you, I hope your husband is understanding and supportive of you not wanting to be touched. Please keep your own feelings and what you’re going through in mind and not your husband, as you say endo is horrible and your husband should know it x
