I was told in 2016 I had endo when I was steralized but the Consultant who did the op did not make any note on my files so have been fighting for treatment since!
Anyway long story short, I have a polyp that needs removing (2nd time I have needed this) thought it would just be a simple procedure like last time.
Anyway was told yesterday that due to all of the other issues they are going to do a Lap and remove as much endo as they can then do the Hysteroscopy to remove the polyp and put in the coil whilst they are there to hopefully (so they told me) stop it all from growing back.
I am relieved I am going to finally be treated but I guess I am in shock too and really scared and worried.
Anyone had all this done on the same day? I have had both procedures before but not at the same time.
Thanks
Katie xx

Hi Katie. I had the coil fitted whilst having my gall bladder removed laparoscopicly and an attempt was made to laser my endo but most of mine was on the bowel so that part failed. I was absolutely fine afterwards. You just might be longer in theatre so slightly more GA and therefore a bit sleepier and longer to recover and I would always keep that in mind with recovery. Not everybody fits in the box of “you should be fine in 4 wks” or whatever. Don’t forget everyone is different. Take care. Blessings. Elise. X
Thank you so much for your reply. They are getting me in quite quick - pencilled me in for the 2nd and as afternoon he says I will need to stay in overnight.
I am just worrying about time off work as well as we only get stat sick pay and I forgot to ask them how long i will need off, but I guess they will do me a sick note anyway.
Going to have a chat with HR tomorrow see what they say xx
Ok. Well I would expect to be off sick for the 2 weeks in the first instance but you May make a quick recovery. This is a question you can ask at your pre- Assesment. Don’t forget everyone recovers differently and you May find you need more or less. Be sensible. Otherwise you end up being off sick again and that’s worse. What job do you do? X
Ok. Well HR is not the same as occupational health, so don’t you let them misguide you or make you feel guilty. I’m here if you need any help. I’m following you now. So KIT. Xx
Poor you. It’s horrid because you are in pain as well. Just ask me anything and I will try and help. As long as the HR person keeps it health related rather than your ability to do your job. How many hours do you work? X
Ah. Well that’s in your favour then. You can lay it on thick and tell them about every pain. It’s really important that you are in charge of that conversation and not them. Take someone with you if necessary. I would. X
