Long story short the coil is my last resort as I can’t seem to have any of the other forms of contraception without getting headaches so I had my lap in august which was my third one 😢 and was told to give the coil six months to settle. I had my first period as normal then my second but then I bled in between periods than what would of been normal then bleed two weeks later again. It’s driving me but me having extra bleeds for over a week plus extra spotting. I really want this to work but it’s starting to get me down. Has anyone any advice? Xxx

Hi.

Not really any advice in afraid but

This sounds exactly like me. I've had mine 2 years, and it did settle for a bit, and would go few Months without nothing, but now all I do is bleed. I've been bleeding since November.

I rang my gp. And got a tablet to stop it, which did work, but soon started again. Been bleeding again now for 13 day. I'm having my coil removed next Friday.

I have seen my consultant recently, and will be getting booked in for a procedure where they block your tubes, but I guess that depends on where you are in life. I'm nearly 40 with no children, and won't be having any now, so don't really care what they do, as long a they make it stop.

Hope you get some relief soon.

Take care

I’m only 33 so they can’t do much more yet for me till I’m older if I choose to things removed etc.

I’m sorry your going through this too and hopefully you’ll get some relief on Friday xxx

Mine took about six months to settle, first period was awful but then less bleeding and reduced pain. I know it doesn’t work for everyone but for me it was the best thing I ever did. It changed my life. I hope it settles for you. x
