Hi I had a subtotal hysterectomy 4 years ago and I'm wondering the same thing. I find it hard to understand the pros/cons especially if you end up having to take medication that will mimic natural hormones anyway? Sorry not very helpful for you! Did you get given a reason why it would be a good idea?
That's interesting thanks for the info. I have a consultation in 2 weeks to decide what bits to cut out next. It will be op 4. Feels like it's never ending but each one has given me a couple of years relief. You just never know if things will be better or worse the next time x
Hello! Oh my goodness - who told you that Premarin won't make Endo. grow back? That's totally wrong! It's an estrogen only HRT, and any unapposed estroden only HRT carries the risk of a possible reoccurrence. If your Consultant told you this, I highly suggest you find another as he obviously doesn't know what he's doing!💜
Hey, I had subtotal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy in 2019 and then in July I had both ovaries removed as well. Menopause symptoms have been really tough and I’m still getting on-and-off pelvic pain which is at times as bad as it was before the most recent surgery. Overall I would say I’m better off, so far, but it’s too early to tell for sure I guess and it’s certainly not been plain sailing! I am hoping that things will settle down over the coming months.Don’t know if that’s any help! Hope your consultation went okay. Did you decide to stick with the decision to not have ovaries removed?
