I was just wondering whether anyone has experienced the return of their endo? If so, how did you know? And what did you do about it?
My 6 month review post-surgery isn’t until the 25th May, but I am experiencing so much abdo pain, tiredness, back pain, I am having a period every 2 weeks or so, lasting around 8 days at a time (it’s not heavy, but just constant big brown clots) and extremely painful sex (to the point I’m in tears).
I am just wondering whether this is the return? And how to collect everything to put my case forward to gynae on my 6 month review. As last time they offered the pill alongside my coil but I refuse to take it again due to the depressive and severe weight gain I experienced with it previously.
Thanks!!

Similar situation. They put me on the coil after surgery but 5 months on my periods are still all over the place and the pain is intense. I've recently been put on norethisterone after contacting my consultant and only been on it a few days so I guess time will tell.
Been 5 days and I've had a few blips but it is a massive improvement. Speak to your GP and / or consultant. They said take the tablet 3 times a day for a month and if I'm happy with it then they will stop it and give me an injection which lasts 3 months. Been reading up on it - its period delay medication - makes sense and no periods - what a dream!!!
Hi, sorry to hear that you are experiencing such pain again. I have had this after both my laparoscopies. After the second they put me on the coil and I was bleeding continuously for just over 3 months and a lot of pain which got worse about 6 months after the op. My original consultant had left and I was put under a new one who just put me on hrt injection which made things worse. Told me to just get on with it....so I asked for a second opinion. Turns out that some of the pain was due to the coil being slightly out of place and digging into the wall of my womb (my womb is tilted back and to the side so they always struggle when doing investigations). They can check it by using a camera, won't show up with scans as not precise enough. So 18 months later after the op when that had been found it was removed. Unfortunately my pain increased and I also have pelvic and bowel endometriosis which I'm waiting for surgery. It might be worth asking about the coil.
Hi! Thank you for the reply! I’m Sorry your going through that but I’m also glad I’m not alone! I have the coil and to start it was great, same with after the lap it was good for 2-3 months. But now my periods are so irregular, I’m either on every two weeks or so, or I have a 60 day gap. I’ve started tracking them since December last year when the pains restarted, as I was fobbed off with being told it’s IBS related. I was told at my lap tht I only have stage 1, but it was completed by a non endo specialist, and I feel the extent is a lot worse than that due to the 3 hour length of my surgery!!
I really hope we both get answers soon! All the best!
