Return of endometriosis

I’ve had a laparoscopy&cervical biopsy, they diagnosed endometriosis and done surgical removal of it 4 month ago, saying it was very close to my bowel and a complex case. I noticed my stomach not feeling right about 2 month afterwards, been back to the doctors and she put me on a new contraceptive pill for 3 month then off for 1 week to try and ease the pain. I am also on tramadol. The pain is literally 24/7, I get no rest bite, I struggle to walk, the pain radiates around all of my stomach and I also suffer back pain. I was just wanting to know how you ladies cope because I’m struggling, I feel devastated, I thought the surgery was the answer to getting me out of pain. I have read a few of you mention a tens machine so I’m going to try that. As I say, I just wanted to ask how yous manage to stay so strong and not let this constant pain get to you, all I seem to want to do is curl up in a ball and comfort eat! The pain is so horrific. Is there anything we can do?

Hi Natalie

This does sound familiar to me, I’ve had similar. Mine was on the bowel as well. I have written a post on suggestion for meds that you could take a look at that might help.

As to coping with the pain, it’s hard. I think sometimes it’s just trying to break it down to one day at a time. Sometimes even that is unbearable and you might have to go minute by minute. For example, for that one minute just focusing on your breath using long slow breaths. Once you’ve done that. You can reward yourself. I got through that minute so I can get through the next one. (Extending to minutes and hours when necessary) Hot water bottles always helped for me and tens machine is a good recommendation.

Take a look at something called the spoon theory to do with chronic pain management. Also as to staying strong, that’s not always realistic and we all have days where we can manage and days when we can’t. Again, I would say day by day but trying to move away from unhelpful thinking like ‘god I’ve had four bad days how much more if this, to ok those 4 days are behind me now, so let’s just get through this morning’. Not always easy I know. (I am off sick at the moment with a chronic pain, of a different kind, and I know it’s can be difficult. ) I am lucky because I can rely on my faith to help me, but there are other things that you can use to try and get you through each day. I would recommend things that distract you as well, like a sitting down hobbies such as knitting sewing crochet embroidery. Reading. I hope this helps. Take care. You aren’t alone. Blessings. Elise x

Thanks for asking. I’m ok ish. Bad night with back pain (waiting for operation to remove disc and decompression of nerve) woke 130 then finally asleep 6am more pain 8am, so took oramorph but should have remembered all that in empty stomach ... so unfortunately sick about hour later. (I hate being sick) so back in bed resting. So at the moment, good, knitting cardigan for my little cousin and comfy ish with pain. 😀 xx take care

If possible then try Cupping Therapy for Back Pain. It will help you and diminishes your pain. And ask them about Stomach Pain too. They might have some suggestion for your Stomach Pain Relief.

I had Cupping Therapy for Severe Back Pain during Periods and my pain is gone after that.

Hopefully it be useful for you.

Good Luck & Keep Posted
