very heavy period 12 days after prostap injection

Has anyone else experienced this? I normally have quite heavy periods but this is the next level heavy. I'm having to change every 45-60 minutes. I normally get clots but this is even worse than normal.

I imagine its normal but i wasn't told about it. I assumed my periods would just stop!

I'm in exactly the same boat, 2 weeks ago today I started Prostrap3 and this morning I've come on my period - it's very dark and clotty! I had a severe stabbing pain lower right hand side and back pain last night but didn't click that I would be coming on due to being told it would stop my erratic bleed. I wasn't told that bleeding could happen either. Here if you need to talk. Take care x

You sound a lot like me. I said to my husband i've had the worst period pain with this than ive had in a long time. Bleeding has been very heavy, dark, clotty etc but its finally starting to slow down a bit. The pain has subsided too.

I have my next 3, 1 month injections at home but i've not been told when to take them! I'm assuming its around a month after the last one

It’s all so confusing isn’t it! It’s like they just fob you off with the prostrap almost (that’s how I feel about it anyway)! X

Hi. Yes I had the same but had been warned by the lovely endo nurse to expect a bleed and it was pretty grim. Once it passed prostap did work well for me, I was pain free and I was so lucky to only get the occasional hot flush with it. What other things have you tried? Xx

I've just spoke to my gyne doctor and have been told to go to A&E but have refused to do so. I think im now getting referred to 'gyne A&E' as apparently my blood loss is to much (I have no idea how they can possibly tell just by my description). Once i'm referred in the next few hours i'm going to call them to find out what the plan is. I don't see the point in going if they can't do anything!

I've not tried anything else. I'm not allowed to use any form of hormone so think this is a risk in itself. I had major complications when i had my daughter and was told i would never be allowed to use hormones as they'll negatively impact my health 🙄

I get severely anemic thats why i've been put on prostap. I'm allergic to Iron so i have to have infusions done at the hospital but with steroids and antihistamines to counteract the side effects of the iron!

Hi. Hope they can give you some advice and it eases off, I think it lasted 2/3 days as heavy and then lightened for another week. Are you able to have iron rich food or does that affect allergy in the same way as medication? Hope you get some help. Xx
