Painful heavy periods after lap

Hi there. I've looked all over the internet for more I formation about the aftermath of a laparoscopy to no avail. I would like to know other people's experiences. I'm 3 months post op for infertility and they found stage 1 endo that they took away. My periods were very heavy and sore the last 2 months but this one (started new years day) is manageable pain wise but extremely heavy. Normally I'd go through maybe 3 or 4 tampons a day. Today I've used 3 tampons and 3 pads. On the pads I saw a lot of fleshy excrement (sorry tmi) and I'm not sure if this is normal. Please let me know if anyone else has had the same experience. 😔

Hi, yes that was similar to me. My first two periods were awful, then my third was better (pain wise) but I had huge clots and bits.

After my fourth period they started to settle. I went to my gp as was concerned at the time, they said it’s totally normal after surgery. If you are still concerned or doesn’t stop see your gp. Hope it gets better for you x

Thank you. That's really helpful to know I'm not alone. I'm hoping that I wont have any more periods for a while. Go in this month for our first try with IUI 🤷‍♀️ thank you again for your reply. X

My first period was fairly normal, except more easily helped by painkillers. The next first 3 months were incredibly light and the pain was amazingly low. Am now 7months post surgery and this period has been more like old times. But on the whole they’ve been much more varied than before, still finding their way to settle I think...
