Also the consultants name on my appointment letter... Her nhs account says she a Specialist is in labour and premature pregnancy... And she does emergency gynecology surgeries like laparoscopies.... Not sure what's going on 😔
Usually the person doing the surgery is different to the person who you will see for appointments. You generally don’t get results or a diagnosis the same day as surgery although they’ll tell you what they see.
I see from a previous post that you are suspected of having severe endo and might need two surgeries - a diagnostic followed by excision potentially involving a bowel surgeon. This must only be done in a tertiary endo centre - I'm not sure if the specialist you have talked with heads such a centre or whether it is a clinic in secondary care. But there is a different referral pathway to centres and the letter you describe sounds to have come from general gynaecology which would be misappropriate.
Referral procedure can be a bit complicated - will pm you. x
EDIT - I can't send a message - could you send me one. It is so important that you are put through the right referral system.
Hello thank for the reply!Yes! I got refurfed for the head of the endo clinic at my local hospital to do the surgery and I spoke to him about how he was going to process for the surgery which was a 2 step wp treatment plan... Then my pain got worse so I told my gp and she wrote a letter to the gynaecologist... A few days later I get told I have a appointment for diagnosis, then the letter arrives but a different name under consultant is on the document and I'm so stressed and concerned! Thank you for the reply I shall message you now!
Please do keep phoning them, they will explain. In my case my surgeon specialises in bowel, perhaps this lady does too. I hope you get lucky like I did and when they get in its found, then removed easily. Endo is very difficult to find sometimes. Keep in touch xx
Hello thank you for your reply! So basically I found out what's gone on, the endometriosis specialist I was meant to see is so overwhelmed... So I have been passed onto his other surgeon who isn't a endometriosis specialist but does alot of endo surgeries and diagnosis, I'm absolutely fine with it. But also no one told me 😂 and I still don't know if my new surgeon does burning or cutting the endometriosis 🤔🤔 and if they will do the same 2step procedure that I already planned with the specialist! hopefully they do the good procedure if they find the endo! And I hope they are trained to find it even if its hiding 😏😏 I'm sure they are tho! So diagnosis surgery on the 15th December! Excited to hopefully get some answers but still scared X
