First of all I want to say thank you to all the advice people have given me. I almost cried when I read peoples posts because it felt like I was being listened to. I feel like I've gained alot more insight and the book that was recommended to me really helped!
I had my smear examination yesterday and while I was waiting the person doing the procedure came to see me. Now im my last post I said a bit about talking to a specialist over the phone and she wasn't listening to me...dismissing everything and left me really frustrated. So when she sent her 'letter of what we discussed' it was all false. Im not on to argue because our health system is doing the best it can but when I read that letter I go angry. So I sent a response (as polite but affirming as I could outlining EVERYTHING). Sent it off and got a response back as an apology. I was shocked but happy and left it at that. That was in March.
Fast forward to yesterday and the lady seeing me said 'I've read your letter and im really sorry how you've been treated. We don't want you to go through any of that again'. She then said 'you mentioned heavy periods for a long time and this worries me' she spotted my book 'the doctor will see you now' which i took with me to read about endometriosis and she pointed to the book and said 'that's what I'm worried about'.
She then said while you're under anesthetic I want to take advantage so if it was ok with me she'd so the smear, as well as Colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and biopsy. So she could take a good look and get as many samples as she could so I wouldn't have to come back if anything was wrong and gothrough all this again. They'd have their answers from today's surgery . She also offered me a coil but I think an hour was too short of a time to decide that so I left that for now.
It did also say on my discharge papers no abnormalities spotted so I'm guessing that's the cervical cancer search? I'll hear back in writing about the results!
