Looking for your opinions, I have been on the mini pill for the last year and although it stops my period I am still getting pain and cysts when I ovulate. When I get the cysts I am exhausted, moody, down and mega bloated. I wanted to ask for those of you on zoladex if the side effects of that are worse than that or is it worth me switching to that rather than being on the pill? Has it helped anyone with similar issues?
Many thanks

Hi I’ve had four injections and would say my symptoms have got better just had 3 weeks off this and was in agony so back on them now till surgery. I had a few headaches at first and Blood pressure was high but on tablets for that and calmed down.
I’ve not had any bleeding on the injection as was on depo before these and night sweats seem to have gone as I had them before my zoladex.
Hope this helps seen lots of posts about the injection maybe look it up on here and see people’s comments x
Hi vickflick next week i will be getting my 2nd shot of zoladex. Are you under the age of 40 and are you due to undergo any surgeries for endometriosis. The reason i ask is because unlike the pill zoladex completely shuts your menstruation system down and puts in a menopausal state. If you are at child bearing age this should be taken into consideration.
Im due surgery in a few months and if i wasn't i wouldn't be on zoladex. However So far i haven't experienced any pain in fact my last period altho painful wasn't as bad as it has been in the past. I think my mood is affected tho and i get hot flushes and night sweats. However sage and evening primrose can help with that.
Hi, I’ve been on zoladex for over 20 years, started at 27 years. I found no problems with any side effects, on the contrary being on zoladex gave me my life back. As someone has said it puts you in a menopausal state so for me no periods no pain generally. I’ve been on it for so long as I choose not to have children and to avoid surgery at all costs (surgery causes more scar tissue & I’ve got stage 4). I was on the pill from 16 until diagnosis at 27, the pill made no difference to my symptoms or stop the damage from happening.
I didn't realise you can have prostap injections long term my consultant said I was only allowed it for 6 months and it did help with the stabbing pains
6 months is correct. When my consultant made the decision it was very unusual to use long term but I’ve met with him every 6 months to monitor my health and it has worked for me with no adverse effects.
