I have just been offered another laparoscopy for ongoing hip/ sciatic like pain. Has anyone had experience of these specific symptoms being alleviated following removal of endometriosis and specifically where from?
I did have endo removed from my uterosacral ligament during my first surgery (April 2019) but this hip, pelvic and back pain all appeared in Mat 2019. Given the previous location (deep within my pelvis) of the endometriosis removed, I am I correct in assuming I just have more which has possibly spread towards my pelvic nerves etc.
Thank you in advance for anyone’s time and consideration.

Hi yes I had second lap feb 2020 endo removed from same area as you but I need more surgery for bowel endo. However since lap pains in hip coccyx low back and leg cramps have worsened..(but pain also worsened after first lap for ovarian cyst)....there are lots of nerves in this area that branch out round pelvis so pain is felt all round......bit like when you have toothache the teeth next to problem tooth also hurt...( hope this makes some sense)
Thank you for your time, consideration and kind reply Plotments. It’s reassuring to know that I’m not entirely alone in my experiences and your toothache analogy was so helpful! Thank you so very kindly! I hope your pain and discomfort eases and that your future surgery helps very much!
I have tried a few hormone treatments since my last operation:
1.Oral progesterone pills: Cerezatte and Cerelle
2. Dectapeptyl Injections (inducing medical menopause)
3. Depo Provera injections currently.
All of which have not alleviated my pain in any capacity and the injections especially have come with a whole host of side effects unfortunately. The Depo injections have most definitely aggravated my pain!
I’m sorry you’ve been in so much pain but reading your post has triggered an issue I’ve been having which I just haven’t connected to endo even tho I’ve had endo for several years just thought My lower back, hips & bum is just my dodgy back 🤷♀️, I’ve got nerve issues in my left side of groin which I’ve put down to damage after hysterectomy, my hip often plays up too but thought that’s joint pain from menopause now but just haven’t connected so thank you for your post which has highlighted for me, I just feel like my aches & pains that are getting more & worse is due to menopause/age so will bring this to my consultants attention to look at 👍.
