Period pain

My first period since coming off the pill a month ago has arrived. We’re trying for a baby so it’s just rubbish to have my period 😩 especially when it is so painful! I kind of knew it would be very painful off the pill as the pill kind of masked my symptoms a little bit, but now the pain is so bad, I haven’t had a period like this in years and years since before I started the pill😩😩 what painkillers etc can you take for period pain whilst trying for a baby?

Ask your GP if Mefenamic acid would be suitable for you. Good luck with the baby making🍀

I’ve already got mefenamic acid from previously but I’ve read online nsaids shouldn’t really be taken whilst trying 😢 thank you!

It’s horrible isn’t it! It’s bad enough getting a period and knowing you’ve not been lucky enough that month never mind the pain x

I’d highly suggest changing your diet to gluten diary free and aspirin before your period is due.worked for me I’m now 7 weeks pregnant and was pain free for a year after making drastic changes for us endo girls getting pregnant is harder because of inflammation in our bodies we must minimise this for success.

I’m already gluten free because I have coeliac. Will try dairy free thanks x

I’d highly suggest looking up the endo diet not eating red meat and more fish you need to get those pain levels down please take a look at my posts on vitamins and minerals to take whilst ttc it’s aimed specifically at endometriosis patients

When TTC took mefenamic for the pain & transexamic acid to reduce my heavy full to be more manageable- the GP said that was fine to take whilst TTC as on your period won’t affect anything also was told I could take Co-codamol for pain too if pain was bad ( not more than 3 days as it can be addictive) I also followed the anti inflammatory diet as I had bowel symptoms too & it helped. We had success & had our daughter (after a 7 year struggle to delayed Endo diagnosis) we are currently trying again! It’s hard managing endo when TTC. Good luck to you xxx
