Pain relief query

Hi everyone - I’m currently taking the mini pill which is keeping the pain at a pretty nonexistent level which is amazing! However without the mini pill, the endo is debilitating, mefanamic acid does nothing, I can’t leave th house and it really impacts my bowels too! My question is there will be a time where I will want to try for a baby and will therefore have to come off the mini pill. What effective pain relief is offered to women who are trying to get pregnant? I’m really worried by it coz when I’m not on the mini pill the pain and other symptoms are truly awful!

I’ve been on the mini pill on and off for 2 years. But have been on this particular brand for a few months. And I used to get severe abdominal and back pain and digestion problems - I no longer get that while being on the pill.

Did it take few months for your body to adjust to the pill

When I was on the other mini pill (cerelle) I would get random brown discharge but still no pain. But I have been on cerazette since my laparscopy and I haven’t had any bleeding or pain. But my consultant did burn away some endo during the laparoscopy so don’t know if that’s had an effect too.

It is Desogestrel - cerazette is just the brand. Desogestrel is the hormone

I had the same problem. I have just had to go back onto the mini pill just to stop the pain. This was not my first choice however i just couldnt get the pain under control. I would be interested to hear other peoples tips on pain too.

It’s not ideal is it but at least we do have a solution currently! The mini pill is great for my pain!

From what my gyno has told me, the best way for me to get pregnant when I am ready is to do a lap surgery, clear it all out, then try to get pregnant immediately after recovery! You shouldn't have much endo symptoms while pregnant but he said it will be highly monitored! Just my experience. Best of luck xx

Hey! I had my laparoscopy in March where endo was found and adhesions attaching my bowel to my pelvic wall treatment was carried out however after weeks of recovery the pain has returned with a vengeance and I’m back on dihydrocodeine and trying everything to reduce it but nothing seems to completely get rid of it! I was told after the laparoscopy that if I got pregnant it could get rid of the symptoms and it may go away on it’s own - so when you decide the time is right you may find the pain goes - short term pain may be worth it in the long run. I’ve also started taking cbd capsuals which my symptoms seem to have eased slightly- could be a cooinsidence but a lot of others have recommended them on here too for pain management not sure if you can take these when trying to conceive but are a natural supplement so maybe?

Sounds similar to me! My uterus is stuck to my bowel and I think my ovaries are stuck to my uterus too! I’m sorry to hear your pain has come back so soon! But that’s reassuring to know about the tablets too, thank you!
