I started taking cerelle last November and religiously take my pill at the same time every day I have an alarm set so I never forget!!
I bled for a few days in December, January, February and April.
I have now not had anything for nearly 7 weeks. I was unwell near the end of April and not sure if that has delayed my period or if my body has jusr adjusted to the pill and my bleeding has now stopped?
Has anyone else had similar?
Thanks in advance!

I take Cerelle and never have a period. I’ve been on progesterone-only mini pill for 20+ years (for contraception) and decided to take a break a few years ago. I bled so heavily, and that’s when my endo was finally diagnosed. I’m back on it now and love it
Thanks for your reply! I’m sure my body has just adjusted to the cerelle and that’s why my period has stopped. My partner and I are always super cautious and I always take my pill at the same time every day x
When you say you was unwell at the end of April, did you experience vomiting / diarrhoea before 2 hours after taking the pill and for more than 24 hours? The only reason I ask is sometimes it can affect the efficiency of the pill as your body may have not absorbed it.
It is more than likely that your body has just gotten used to the pill however, if the above did happen I would maybe suggest there is no harm in doing a pregnancy test (unless by you mean you also use condoms by saying you and your partner and cautious then I would say the chances of pregnancy are next to none).
Cerelle is a progestogen-only pill (desogestrel 75mcg) and it’s commonly stops bleeding as the womb lining isn’t being built up like it would with a combined pill. It stops ovulation and reduces bleeding after a while.
Your menstrual cycle is being suppressed by Cerelle, much like if you were to take a combined pill. However, as there’s no oestrogen in it, bleeding tends to be irregular, infrequent or stop altogether. It’s the best thing about it!!
Thank you for your reply! That’s what i’m thinking I haven’t seen my partner for weeks due to this coronavirus as we live seperately and I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms I just wasn’t sure if anyone else had a period for a while and then all of a sudden it stops. My doctor did tell me that most people struggle with cerelle mentally due to irregular periods xx
Hi I’m also on this pill, hve been for years, my periods are always irregular but I have more then one bleed a month although I know it takes a few months for pill to settle?
Maybe worth taking a test to put your mind at ease
Thank you for your reply! I think i’m just being paranoid my Doctor told me most people do struggle with this pill due to the irregular periods. I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms at all and don’t feel any different. I use an app called flo and record my period there and my cycle had been all over the place and some months longer and other months shorter xx
I don’t want to scare you or anything, and not by any means trying to be ark ward as I’m sure your not but when I found out I was pregnant I was going to my go just for a routine check to see what they was doing next regarding endo.. saw a junior doctor and he asked has anyone ever done a pregnancy test as gynae may ask and I said no he said well we will do one so can say on referral once has been done. At first was negative and he said okay I’m just going to get the named doctor to sign you over to gynae when he came back the test was positive and I was actually pregnant. I had no symptoms at all I was 2-3 weeks pregnant because I went and done clear blue straight away as I didn’t believe. Not saying this is the case but at least you can rule it out
I can do one to rule it but I mean if I was pregnant I’d be more than 2-3 weeks or so as it’s been 12 weeks since i’ve even been with my partner due to living seperately through this covid-19 xx
