Bout of blood clots during heavy period

Hi all you endo warriors hope your well as can be! In feb this year I had 3 endometriomas removed through laparoscopy, my periods have been hell ever since, I know it's part of my body healing but this period I'm on at the minute has been very strange! The first three days I was quite light with period pains but I could deal with that compared to last time. Then day 4 came and I was so heavy with severe bloating I had to double up on pads and change every hour! Last night it seemed to really slow down to just spotting which was a relief, until 1am this morning I had severe pain in my pelvic area and clotting quite big for an hour, it really scared me because this has never happened before and (sorry for the TMI) iv never seen so much blood before!! It calmed down after an hour I could go back to bed. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? Feeling really worried.

Hi Emmarussell,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Are you able to telephone your GP and speak to them about this? If so I would advise discussing with them the amount of blood you are losing as it does sound excessive. You could also try to get in touch with the ward where your surgery took place, or if none of these options work then I would call 111 and speak to a professional.
