Hi. I’m 41 and suffered endo for 4 years. It’s excruciating pain. My gynaecologist recommended progesterone only (mini pill) which I’ve been taking for 6 months. I’ve had no endo pain since!
Although this is utter relief, my concern is should I take the pill for many years even though the GP says it’s perfectly safe to do so. Does anyone else have this concern? Are any of you late 40’s / 50’s & still taking the pill & do you get on ok with it?

Hi I am 49 and take mini pill for endo. Diagnosed in 2015 with severe endometriosis and had endometrioma drained during diagnostic lap. Advised to have full hysterectomy and take hrt. I refused as having read many posts on this forum I couldnt understand why it was necessary to remove my one healthy ovary. For me it was the right choice. I have been on mini pill for 3 years now and no more pain. Had to have cervical polyp removed last year and was offered mirena coil at the time but said happy on mini pill and consultant agreed and said she could see no reason why I shouldn't continue.
The main concern is that the pill only treats the symptoms not the disease and it is well documented that this can lead to more severe endo down the line. Have you had thorough excision?
