Mini pill, endo and periods

Hi all

I had my endometriosis surgeries around 3 years ago and then went on cerazette pill for a year with no periods i stop for a while whilst travelling. I then start again for the last 20 months ive had no bleeds or spotting (had horrible side effects but stuck with it) and now ive had reallly heavy bleed the last week. Ive read loads of stories online about bleeding but not after such a long time of taking it!

Anyone experienced a similar thing or got any advice? I feel awful

Can it just stop working?

I found my periods got worse once I had taken cerazette for around two years. I do wonder though if that was because my Endo was getting worse potentially. Sorry you’re suffering, I found it a good pill for me overall and was on that and then Cerelle for years. I’ve just had a coil fitted now and the side effects have been quite different, which I found odd given they’re all progesterone based contraceptives

I had been fine on microgynon for years . But then started spotting so had been put on Gedarel ever since last year . But since last one month I’ve been spotting on it . I’m going to see gp to see what she suggests. But it’s a nuisance really . And I’m d worrying kind so doesn’t help .

I was on cerazette for ages and was ok then started getting heavy prolonged bleeding. They decided to up my dose to two tablets daily. Then after a few months the bleeding became even worse it got to the point where I was bleeding all month minus a few days.

I was like this for about four months so spoke to my gynae who told me to come off it all together. I am now on a wait and see basis. x

Thanks Kelly. I guess they just stop working after a while. Sucks to be a woman at times!xx
