Like many of us I was due a lap in March that’s been delayed and now I’m facing months of no treatment.. other than pain relief and heat.
I’m looking at going on the pill to stop my cycle as much as possible during this time, but my GP is prescribing yasmin? Just wondered if anyone had knowledge on the brand that they have found to work?
I’m trying to research her online to avoid too much oestrogen, but can’t find a good resource.

I was on desogestrol before op, didn’t help pain, good for emotions. After lap now on Zoladex which is supposed to stop any oestrogen and endometriosis, hopefully pain. Only had on, not doing much so far, but too soon to tell really.
I'm on Eloine. Same two hormones as Yasmin but a slightly lower dose of oestrogen (0.02 rather than 0.03). Eloine is the same as the discontinued (in the UK at least - don't know about elsewhere) pill called Yaz (if that helps with your googling!)
I've only been on it 14 days (to reduce pain and the likelihood of my endometrioma growing until I can get a laproscopy after pandemic) so I can't advise on whether it is any good yet - I've had no side effects but there again I've never had any problem with contraceptive pills and my endo pain is very mild anyway.
That’s really helpful thanks, I’m in the same position hence looking at the pill and need one with a Lower dose of oestrogen. I always took the pill from age 16-27 and then from 32 for a while with no side effects, so I really hopeful this may be able to stop my cycle of pain.
There’s mood swing initially but then seem to get adjusted
Only 4 days off pill so less menstruation thus less pain for me; endo looks the same for these few years on ultrasound so my doctor jokes that I can grow old with my old friend (3-4cm endo ), without any new operation hopefully
Do u know why yaz is discontinued or renamed to Eloise?
Hi, sorry to hear that ur surgery has been cancelled, its such a crap time!
