What contraception have people used to help with their endometriosis? I’ve been told to try the coil. However, doing my research I don’t like the sound of it.

I've been on 5 or 6 different pills and tried tricycling 3 of them. One worked to manage my symptoms for many years, but started becoming less effective. I had the coil fitted a couple of months ago. To early to tell yet if its helping or not as it's still settling in.
Thank you so much. I hope the coil helps for you soon x
Thanks. It's just my cycles that need to settle as for about 10 years I tricycled my pill so my body just doesn't know when to have a period at the moment it's been 3 months and I've only had 1, just after it was fitted. But I'm pretty sure it's too early to say that it's settled I think my body is just working out its normal cycle again.
Like you I was unsure about the coil but what's important to remember is those where its helped immensely are unlike to still be on forums like this as they no longer need them. My choice was basically between the coil or the depo injection as I'd already tried so many pills. I decided on the coil because if it makes things worse or anything I can get it taken out. Where as the injection I'd have to wait for it to leave my system.
I'll be honest the first month was awful, pain constantly but I set time limits so I said if after a month the pain is the same or worse it comes out, but if it's improving then I'll keep it and reevaluate it in a couple of months. It was hard but I had to have mine in under GA as I pass out just at a smear test so there was no way I'd handle it awake.
That’s the problem see, we’re all trying to find out different treatments to help but unfortunately all these treatments have side effects and don’t always work for that specific person.
That’s exactly why I didn’t want the injection because of having to wait for it to come out of my system.
I’ve decided to go back on the pill today, I never used to have any problems when I was on the pill before. So i think i’ll see how this one goes, however it’s different to the one I used to be on. If this doesn’t work my plan B is a coil.
Thank you so much for the advice, i really appreciate it x
Hi
I have a mirena coil and have had for the last 11 years. It's my preferred choice as I don't have to remember to take pills etc and it has stopped my periods which is great for me. Having it fitted can be uncomfortable. However.....it hasn't stopped me developing severe endometriosis and I'm currently waiting for surgery 🤔😊

I have been on this contraception Desogestrel for 6 months now and I haven't seen any difference. The pain continues and still got heavy bleeding. My GP now change it to another one ''Noriday' '. And I couldn't found it in the pharmacy's to buy because of this coronavirus presence.
Please have anyone used this "Noriday contraception"
Thank you
Bless you all for your advice.
