Hello Redhen 17. I had my lap a month ago and they removed my left ovary, fallopian tube, one endometrioma from my right ovary and excised all the endo they could see. Unlike you I had never been in much pain before the surgery even if my doctor said my condition was severe, stage 3 and was kind of shocked of what he found when he opened me up. So I am not in pain right now and almost completely healed. If you are unsure whether to have the surgery or not I would advise you to go for it. Even if for some ladies it didn't make a difference regarding the pain, everyone is different and you wouldn't know if is a good thing for you until you had it. But at least you would get rid of the cyst and all the endo you have that could progress otherwise. I was just like you, refused surgery for years, was afraid of it but I decided to have it even if I hadn't been in pain and as I said what they found was worse than expected. I hope this helps! Good luck and take care!
thank for much for taking the time to reply . I think it defo need to be removed as it’s so large and causing issues with my mobility as well as pain . I feel ready for the surgery , just in the nhs waiting list . Hope u recover well and glad to hear u have healed well xx
hun I had diagnostic lap the exercised one chocolate endometioma which was quite large But they couldn’t take anymore out as they needed me to have a mri to find out how much of my pelvic organs were involved . I would say. Having the endomtomia removed it gave a little relief but as I need further treatment I can’t really comment as I have a frozen pelvis and die involving the bowel so bowel surgery next so I am still in extreme pain as it’s also wrapped round my nerves in pelvis and groin as well so I do have severe pelvic pain still. I would say though I think you will have some relief but I also think it depends what they find when the my go in as all my scans showed just like a simple functional cyst which women are supposed to have apparently but nothing else showed and they could never see anything to demonstrate the pain I was in until they did the lap. Also it depends what stage or type the endo is as some people can get endo growth as much as six to seven months later don’t want to scare you but it can be a progressive problem. Take care xx
