Hi i had a Laproscopy for the removal endometriosis (excision) 8 days ago. I feel like my endo symptoms (rather than post-op symptoms) are worse since my op. I have pain down my legs, in my back and pelvic area. Is it normal to feel this way? I was expecting to feel some relief even if it was slight after being in daily pain for so long.

Endometriosis (Laproscopy)
I don't see any relief from laparoscopy to be honest. My back it's still killing me day in day out. I feel like Doctor didn't examine me properly and instead of proper diagnosis what causing a back pain, he decided to send me for surgery (as I went private).
Sorry i did not understand your reply. Have u had surgery or are you due to have surgery?
I had laparoscopy 4 weeks ago
Ahh ok and your still getting the same pain you did before the surgery? Ive read it can take up to 6 months to see results not sure how true this is. I was hoping for some relief at least i feel worse right now xx
Hi, I’ve had surgery three times and you always feel worst before you feel better. The last time was last year and for a little while there I thought I’d made a terrible mistake as I was a lot worst for a while, but as you heal you should hopefully start feeling better x
Aww that’s reassuring. Just a little scared as im getting endo symptoms i did not have before. How long did it take for you to start feeling any difference. Also thanks for taking the time to reply x
No problem at all is I remember correctly it was around 6-8 weeks, but everyone is different. When I discussed it with my consultant he said it was my nerve endings repairing. I hope this helps and you start feeling better soon x
Back pain is horrific. Now I'm thinking that it might be a slipped disc or chronic back pain rather than endometriosis... I asked for MRI before surgery to establish cause of the pain, or at least check if this is not caused by something different than endo but doctor disagreed.. Very disappointed as I can't function with the level of pain Ive got.
Oh sorry to hear that. My back pain is the same. I had a MRI which shown nothing. It could be that the endo is higher up than they can establish on a Laproscopy? If mine doesn’t die down after a few months i am going to suggest this to the Doctor.
It took me a couple months to notice a change. I had a lot of inflammation and a long recovery (3-5 months). Keep in mind your insides are still healing. You’re not even supposed to lift anything for 4 weeks (at least that’s what I was told). I had stage for recto vaginal Endo removed, my vagina was fused to my rectum. I now have way more feeling in my feet and legs as well as tons less pain on the regular.
