Hi there,

When are you going for your laparoscopy? In general unless anything goes wrong (unfortunately I had complications) your allowed home the same day and general recovery is a few days rest as the trapped wind can be very painful. If complications recovery can take longer.

Fingers crossed yours goes smoothly good luck xx

Oh sorry I meant pain free - body to heal?

No laproscopy has been discussed. My gynie wants me to see a general surgeon - he covers laproscopy, colon and other stuff. She is referring me because my groin lympnodes are swollen and have been for two years and obviously cos of the on going pain after taking the pill for 3 months. I don't know what he is going to say or if he will even mention a laproscopy I was just thinking ahead. I have a holiday in may and I am going to florida so it is a MASSIVE holiday. And I was just thinking if he does suggest a laproscopy and it's before my holiday. Do I turn it down because I might not be fully healed before may?

Gynie has also referred me to see a haematologist

My body fully healed after a few weeks but as I say unfortunately I had complications. Ah ok I see what you mean it's good you have been referred and I would imagine some form of investigation surgery would happen (although we're not doctors so we can only speculate haha!) how exciting how lovely I personally wouldn't cancel as it's so important to determine what the problems are, however unfortunately with waiting lists these days it may not be until after your holiday anyway if you know what I mean x

Hope it has helped a little bit it's so hard as we are all in this together but everyone's at different stages.

Initially things improved dramatically pain was much easier and bleeding also subsided back to 'normal' I'm 20 months post lap and have started to have complications and irregular bleeding again so I am back for a minor op on Friday to fit the coil to see if that helps xx

I had my lap last Monday and this Monday the doc signed me off work for 3 weeks so in total I'd have a month off and I should be fully fit and ready for work after that time, but I am a Course of antibiotics now and stronger pain meds (not the best recovery) but I was told to expect to be off for around 2 weeks x

I woke up after my lap and could not believe how much pain I was in. They gave me more pain relief but would only give me so much as I was so drowsy. I was sent home that evening and was in a lot of pain and quite drowsy for around a week.

I would suggest bringing a pillow to put between you and the seat belt, I was unable to lift my legs into the bed, bend down, lift anything etc so if you can get help for a couple of days after your lap I would recommend it and rest as much as possible. Make sure you are stocked up on all essentials like pain relief and foods that are quick and easy to make. It took me about a month to fully recover but everybody is different. Best wishes with everything.
