Burning feeling in left and right ovary
Hiya there, I’m sorry you’re getting theses symptoms, just thought I would drop you a message as I’ve been getting this all as well. I don’t believe I had Endometriomas but did have endometriosis all over but particularly my ovaries. Im the process of having scans and check ups for the pain I’m getting so not entirely sure yet, should find out Thursday with any luck, but they think I either have cysts or that some of my endometriosis was missed in my surgery two years ago. Obviously everyone is different so I can’t say what they will say in your case.
If youre worried in the meantime might be worth trying to see you GP at least as they may be able to give you something for the pain or some anti-sickness meds for the nausea if you don’t already have some of course. Whilst you’re there you might be able to have an opportunity to ask what they’re looking for at your gynaecologist appointment, they’re sent letters regarding a lot of things from hospital appointments so this may give you more of an idea to prepare yourself and hopefully ease some of your worries.
Another option would be try and contact the secretary of the gynae you have for this information. (Usually their number/contact details are on the letters they send). You may have already done all this but just thought I would drop a message as it’s all stuff that I wish I knew to do in the past. Good luck with your appointments, I hope that they are able to figure out what’s wrong quickly and will help you have less pain soon. X
Good morning thankyou for the comments, if got on appointment on 2nd january so fingers crossed I can get some answers! I just dread every period I have and the nausea and back pain makes me have time off work which also doesn't look good when your having days off each month but hey ho! Thankyou xxxx
I have the same thing! My endo affects my left ovary more and last time I had a scan, there was a cyst on the left ovary too.
It's started to affect my right one too now and there are times when it literally feels like someone's dropped a match onto my ovaries. The left one is twisted too so I also get back pain with it aswell.
I'm taking codeine for it and it helps a bit but doesn't make it go completely. I hope the appoint goes okay and that you are able to get some answers soon 💕💕💕💕
Woozi, that's far I don't have endometriomas but endo around the ovaries and I get the burning and stabbing sensation + back pain. I suggest you push to anticipate the appointment because with endometriomas maybe you need to get it checked.
Not trying to alarm anyone here, I'm sure it's not more than what you've already been diagnosed with, but an appointment in a month is a lot. How big are your endometriomas and have ever gotten surgery? Is the gyn you have an appointment with at least BSGE-certified?
Hi there, it is awful and I dread every period, I have to have days off every month from work because of it which doesn't look good either, the doctor said both endometriomas are 2.5cm so not too big but she said it increase in size. I had a laparoscopy done 18 months ago had a 6cm endometrioma on left ovary and endo in different places he drained it and burnt what he could away! Just hate this disease it's so draining but trying to stay positive I have a gynecology appointment on 2nd Jan so we shall see. Thanks for the message and hope you get through it too xxx
I have to tell you that draining a cyst is correct but burning it off in the end means carrying about ablation, which has high recurrence rates because it doesn't remove endometriosia from its roots but only burns off the top.
Endometriomas don't grow in 18 months so they came back simply because the previous endometriomas were not removed completely.
I strongly suggest you find a BSGE-certified surgeon with extensive experience in EXCISION surgery and book an appointment with them.
According to some, N-acetylcisteine is good to reduce the size of endometriomas or slow its growing rate. It's an antioxidant you can take and don't need a prescription from.
Visanne (progesterone-only pill) has also been associated to shinking endometriomas so maybe ask your new consultant about it.
I repeat, I would only go to an appointment with an excision endo surgeon. There is nothing wrong with switching surgeons/endo specialists.
