Left ovary stuck to womb

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I have terrible periods and it hurts when I use the loo. I had a scan and my ovary is stuck to my womb. I have not had a proper diagnosis as I have not wanted to go down the surgery route yet but it is likely I have endo.

My doctors have not been very helpful and said I can either have surgery or take painkillers she said contraception will not help with the pain. Is that true?

What are the next steps? Would you push for a gynecology referral?

You need a referral to gynae for a confirmed diagnosis and a proper assessment of the endo.

Yes definitely push for a referral and a proper diagnosis. Its not just about pain management but trying to stop the endo patches affecting other organs.

My left ovary and womb are also fused as was by bladder (prior to surgery). My next procedure is to remove endo from my bowel (in a couple of weeks). I keep telling myself if I had been diagnosed and treated earlier my organs wouldn't have been so badly affected.

You owe it to yourself to ensure the best possible prognosis.

Good luck and best wishes 😊

Hi,

You will eventually need a lap if it is stuck to your uterus and causing problems. I was admitted into hospital with severe pain in my side about 2 years ago. They tested me 4 everything and when I had scan they told me my right ovary was stuck to the wall of my uterus. I had to have a lap to check for endometriosis. They jst removed the ovary from my uterus but tld me it looked like I might have been getting the start of endo but because I had the myrena in it had prevented it from developing. I was pain free up till about 6 mths ago when i started getting pain all over my pelvis and again in my side, was diagnosed on scan as having to quite big cysts on right ovary and one was hemmoragic. Had lap a couple of days ago and told theres nothing wrong with me and no cysts there. Was really upset as cysts had obviously burst and no endo even though I have typical symptoms. My advice to you is to get the lap, apparently its the only way endo can be diagnosed and because your ovary is stuck like mine was it could be that endo is in the stages of developing so best to have it checked before it does get out of hand and it can maybe be prevented. Good luck ☺x

Hi,

I’ve just had a laparoscopy today which was to initially search for endometriosis but they found that my right ovary was attached to my womb and no sign of endometriosis.

Back in December 2016 I had open myomectomy surgery to remove a cyst and they think the ovary attached to my womb was from that surgery.

So confused by it all.

Hope you are all getting on okay!
