I had a laparoscopy about 8 weeks ago. I got my period a week following surgery, which I was due for them at that time. I was due last week for my period, and I have been spotting for the last week. Very little spotting, but I have had it for basically the 6/7 days. My partner and I have been trying for a baby for over a year now so things are getting a little frustrating. Can anyone fill me in on how they dealt with things, after endometriosis ablation and pregnancy ? My periods just seem all over the place.

Hi,
Periods can be so unpredictable after surgery and just with Endometriosis alone.
You may find it takes some time for your body to get back to its ‘normal’ routine.
I have recently started using an apt called ‘headspace’, this helps me to relax and take my mind off everything that’s going on. Also, when I feel up to it I do find it helps to keep myself busy.
And just as important as anything else is that you and your partner are there for each other. I’ve found that a strong supportive network around me has helped a lot.
But if you’ve been trying for a baby recently, maybe try a pregnancy test?
Hope that makes sense and fingers crossed for you!
I would say if you’ve been trying for over a year, do see your GP to start the wheels in motion on a referral to infertility.
