Hi there, just a quick question, I was just wondering if any one knows if you are due a laparoscopy would it still go ahead if you are in the early stages of pregnancy (4-6 weeks)?
Would it be damaging to your pregnancy or any high risk things to know about?
Thankyou!

I had to do a pregnancy test before mine. I can’t imagine they would have continued if pregnant. They will put instruments into your uterus... so where the foetus is.
They can’t perform the lap if there is any chance you are pregnant; both my laps I’ve had to do a urine sample on the morning of the surgery and they use their own hospital pregnancy test. It might increase risk of miscarriage not to mention the anaesthetic. They will arrange another lap if you’re pregnant xoxo
Yeah as others have said they won't go ahead if you're pregnant. I had to give a urine sample for a pregnancy test on the day of mine despite the fact there was zero chance of me being pregnant. Gynaecological surgery is disruptive to the reproductive organs not to mention the fact that general anaesthesia and surgery in general is avoided during pregnancy unless it is a life or death situation.
