Hi ladies, I have had my Lap 15 weeks ago now, excision surgery . I have been put on cerelle (since March) double dose to try to suppress my period and the pain. I have a back problem also but every single day I still experience pain in my hips pelvis and abdomen. I still struggle I have been on amitriptyline but came off it as it was making me depressed. Codine, paracetamol, ibrofen and tens machine and all the muscle balms & CBD oil. I changed me diet cut out coffee cut down drinking. Anyway basically before this huge flare started I was on combined pill and I had flares sure but not constant every day all the time struggles. I’m going to move back into the combined pill as logically I’m thinking if it helped more than this current one before it should do the same right? But why does my body want the estrogen to suppress the pain and the other symptoms when I have read that endo is “fed” by estrogen?! It makes 0 sense to me. Also babies wise if I need to be on combined pill to be in minimal pain and go to work then how on Earth am I going to get pregnant. My wedding day is in less than 4 weeks time and I just want to be able to walk properly down the isle 🤦♀️🙏 does anyone have any knowledge or experience with being better on combind pill. My 3 doctors (2 gynes and a gp) conflict about this often.
Thanks Hannah x

I tired all sorts of hormonal pills and I have to say even before my lap the depo injection has always worked best for me. But everybody’s body reacts differently so it’s just about trying different options and seeing which works best for you. The only thing with the depo injection is it can sometimes affect your fertility in the sense of when you stop using it it can take a few months for your cycle to return to normal. But I have found this varies aswell. When I first stopped this for a change of medication before my first lap it returned straight away but I have recently stopped it to start trying for a baby and it’s taken 3 months.
I'm also a bit confused with the whole putting women with endo on the pill that contains estrogen, when endo is an estrogen based thing and wouldn't it just "feed" the endo?
I was prescribed Visanne for 6 months the week following my first lap that diagnosed endo 9 weeks ago. It's supposed to suppress endo and stop my periods for awhile to help with my pain, especially around ovulation and periods. But what happens after 6 months? I wasn't told by my gyno. Am I supposed to go back on the pill and then after awhile be in pain again and let the pill "feed" the endo cells again?
I understand your pain. Yours sounds a lot like nerve pain if its an almost daily occurance. Did your doctor mention this at all? I am still dealing with back, hip, leg and pelvic pain in different pain levels. I have become an expert in identifying what type of pain my body is experiencing haha, for example the difference between period cramps, ovulation cramps and 'other' pelvic pain as well as what is muscle pain and what is nerve pain. Nerve pain is my nightmare at the moment. It's a daily occurrence and I also have frequent bad nerve pain attacks that spread up and down my body from my pelvis and hip area. Most days I just have the dull nerve ache in my hips, pelvis and through to my lower back which makes it difficult for me to walk. Every night I am exhausted and the pain intensifies.
I am still searching for something that helps or just takes the edge off so I can function normally when it's gets bad. Pain killers hardly touch it. But I've recently tried Lyrica at night (it makes you really sleepy) and I believe it worked, well it put me to sleep which was a relief in itself haha. But I woke up with a headache so I am only having it with the severe nerve pain and only at night. I've also tried Celecoxit 200mg but it only helps with some body aches and just barely touches the nerve pain in my hips. I'm mostly relying on heat packs and heat rubs at the moment as they give me some temporary relief. I just started trying a liquid magnesium rub today but so far nothing for the nerve pain. I think it's more for muscles and cramps.
I was researching tens machine or CBD oil but if it doesn't help nerve pain throughout an entire day then I don't know what will.
Sorry I can't help with your pill situation. That is something i will be dealing with in about 4 months time so i am not looking forward to trialling a bunch of contraceptive pills again. If you know a combined pill that worked most than othes previously, then definitely go back to it.
Hey, thanks for your advice! It’s an absolute minefield when it comes to pills with this. Yeh I wondered if it could be nerve pain 🤦♀️ kinda hoping it’s not Iv had a MRI not that long ago so waiting for the results back from that fingers crossed they can offer some advice. Xx
Hi I was diagnosed with severe endo last Feb and for 12yrs before that was on the pill I still had pain in the pill still cramping but 2 paracetamol and done now I take paracetamol and ibuprofen back to back and use heat bags and a tens machine and sometimes none of it touches it. I will go back on something but at the moment we are waiting for surgery and TTC so am trying to muddle through.
